I thought this show was very solid until that stupid ending came along. This is what you get when you give in to audiences demanding for a happy ending when the story has no place for one. Truly the most stupid ending I've seen in a BL thus far.
None of those, he's just a plain guy who likes men. His previous abusive boyfriend makes Ray dress up as a woman so that he (abusive BF) won't be seen outside with another man.
I am still in Ep. 5. I love it. It's very anti-kdrama / anti-KBL. Kinda Western-ish in fact? Most likely because the director is European? I guess the people that keep hating on it are the ones who are just too consumed with big studio productions. But guess what, T8S isn't one of that flock so set your expectations accordingly
I can actually settle with the hugs between WY and TJ. Them hugs look so warm and sincere. For the life of me I do not understand these people downvoting a series because of one lousy kiss or the lack of it (I also observed this in A Shoulder to Cry On). Go watch Pornhub or something.
OK, I loved the concept and all, but this show did NOT deliver. Probably the worst thing about it is that they never explained what is the deal with Denis. He was a key element in the plot but we knew nothing about him, his mental condition, his attraction to Dongbaek, and his hatred for Yudam. If they could have addressed this huge plot hole, I would've liked this drama better.
Not good, not bad either. the main problem is that the conflict in the story is too weak and just doesn't make any sense. the chef MC is also very dull.
ngl I've had low expectations for MBS' Tunku Shower when it started out. Mr. Unlucky started on a high yet quickly lost steam, Senpai This Can't Be Love was otherworldly in a bad way, and Takarakun and Amagikun was just bland. With those three consecutive turkeys it's a mystery how this special timeslot on MBS even continued.
But then came Eternal Yesterday, which---after wiping away all those buckets of tears---made me realize that hey, these BLs might not be that bad after all. Candy Color Paradox was a bit meh but the vibrancy of it was just too alluring to resist. And then we had Jack o'Frost.... out of the six BLs that took this timeslot thus far, MBS just knocked it out of the park with this one. The filmmaking was topnotch, as was the storytelling. Everything just blended so well together, from the cinematography to the score. Technical wise, Jack o'Frost was the best-filmed of all BLs released in 2023 thus far.
Kosuke-san, who we all loved as Katori in Takarakun and Amagikun, was equally spectacular as Fumiya here. He's got a real bright future ahead of him.
Anyway, I am very glad this timeslot got renewed for another year to air boys love dramas and I cannot wait for the next project to be announced.
man i hate that among the 2022 BLs released from Taiwan, this got the least amount of attention... don't get me wrong, My Tooth Your Love was great, but DNA Says Love You was on a different level
Wow, people really are mad at that epilogue. The epilogue is more of a special ep, it's barely connected to the story narrated in Eps. 1 to 6. Think of it as something similar to an Our Skyy special, idk. hope that helps calm you down
I will never understand why among MBS' long string of BLs for 2022, Eternal Yesterday has the least number of votes when it is miles ahead of the rest in terms of storytelling and quality. This is why we can't have nice things.
every 15 years, Jaewoo jumps back to 2022 (when the dormitory was on the brink of being demolished) and then jumps back again to 2007 (when Jihoon was still alive). There are many loose ends to the story so you just have to accept it as that without questions asked... that is just my interpretation, maybe someone else here has a better way of putting it
ppl in the comment section who watched it long back ..please help me...how do i get over this..how do i make it…
Just jump to a happier drama! fortunately My Tooth Your Love was airing at the same time so watching that (and the fanservice between the leads) really helped. in no time you'll forget the pain!
I really wanted to like it, but I struggled watching the whole thing. The supporting characters Tanaka and Katori are way way way more interesting than the mains. I hated how Takara just stayed deadpan throughout the drama, how could that type of character receive any audience sympathy? It's not cringy as a lot of people here said, it's just flat and boring.
might be an unpopular opinion but his haircut in Choco Milkshake really suited him and I hope he keeps that. it makes him look like Cha Eunwoo from some angles.
It was a good story. It started well but i feel like RJ and Alex story was not developed at all. They should have…
Taiwanese BLs are notorious for not fleshing out side couples... Apart from the one in About Youth, there's no side couple worth remembering from Taiwan imo
Something big was thrown at us at ep 11 -- potential domestic abuse? that was so out of blue, lol. honestly the build up over the past episodes was really good, and i hope they will manage to end it in a high note.
