i really wanted to like it, i really do.but the bad writing sticks out like a sore thumb. there are so many scenes where the characters are talking for like 3-5 minutes but it's not even advancing the story. W-Story should really hire better writers, first we've had CBAW and now this. Two turkeys in a row...
Ah, finally finished it! NGL, I really disliked Baram, he was such a pushover and just pouted 90% of the time. Because of that, I did not enjoy the series that much and felt that it was boring/moving too slow. Good thing there's Hantae to balance things. BUT episode 8 happened and everything turned 180 degrees. I could honestly skip episodes 1 to 7 and just go straight to ep 8. it really ended on a high note, and I was smiling throughout the episode!
I think this BL is one of the very RARE instances where the series started out so weak but ended with a bang! For that, I'll be giving this an 8/10 instead of a 6 as i originally planned haha
Edit: I just found out who the director was, and I think that explained a lot, lmao. His BLs are boring AF
Ep. 4 was not as bad as everyone makes it seem to be... in fact the only part that wasn't to my liking was that meeting with the representative from a modeling agency (I think that's what he is, lol) because I felt it was overplayed... Simeon making a big entrance at the end speaks a lot about his character, I think he'll become my favorite among the four leads.
And Lee Jun... I generally don't like him, I felt that he's too dull to be a main character but it looks like he's gradually improving.
I think it could be by choice because these actors' may fear the wrath of the Chinese censors or riducle from…
Hmm i don't think that's the case. pretty much all the younger members of the cast have posted pics on Weibo that clearly shows themselves as being part of this drama.
Stay With Me got only my sixth 10-star vote on this website. I feel it doesn't deserve anything less than that. We've been well fed this time of the year.
he is literally never beating these allegationshttps://twitter.com/fortsmix/status/1689492257760559104?s=20
Was this person ghosted by Krist or something, because I SWEAR her tweets make her seem like her whole life was dedicated to ruining his entire career LMAO
After much thought, I eventually gave it an 8.5. The main low point is that the momentum was lost in the last few episodes, and I had to admit that the ending could have been more creative (we all love to see a plot twist, don't we?). I also agree with another reviewer when she said that the love between Pisaeng and Kawi looks one sided. But everything else was exceptional. All characters are so well-rounded, not overly perfect, and each one had his/her flaws, which made them feel more human. Krist, Gawin, and Aye delivered exceptional performances, and the actor playing Kawi's dad also deserves a shoutout for making me bawl my eyes out real bad in his final scene. Lol. I do not have a stellar opinion of GMMTV BLs so when I say that Be My Favorite is among their better ones, it's already a big deal.
the producers of the thai remake have very BIG shoes to fill. they need to step up their game to avoid ridicule. but knowing it's thai BL, they'd just probably compensate by showing too much sex lol
We need to upgrade the cast list... so many cast members are missing (Aunt Zhou, Mo Yi, Bokuang, Bokuang's dad, Mo Renhe, Yi Wenying)....at least Duoduo is finally credited
Just came back from Twitter and I gotta ask, is Krist the most maligned actor in the BL universe? It's sad to see BMF being buried to the bottom of the BL pile because of the hate thrown at him.
It's sadder that whenever I challenge these haters to prove their homophobia allegations, they make up all types of excuses and don't produce any evidence lmfao
I hope that with this and "In Your Heart", many mainland Chinese production houses will start making BLs and air it outside their country to escape the ban. Cdramas actually have good production value.
