Well, surprisingly I loved this thing. But you know was the worst part? hahaha, I decided to continue watching this drama (I was on episode 1 like ages ago) because I wanted to have something to watch while I waited for new episodes of Love like the galaxy, and Immortal Samsara to come out, but I finished this on a single weekend, like how.
About the drama, the story was entertaining, actually got me engaged with the characters and story. I think I would've even cried if I already didn't know the ending. The three couples in this drama were so cute and enjoyable, the best chemistry is ofc for the main couple.
Everything aside, I just wanted to say that Zheng Ye looks stunning in ancient costume. He can pull off the long and short hair with different styles and costumes. Also, his acting was on point, I loved all the endearing, annoyed, and full of love looks that he gave to FL.

Chinese government invented a rule when a drama that is going to get televised can't have more than 40 episodes. When the rule came out, Immortal Samsara and many other dramas were already shooting or were all planned to have a bigger amount of episodes, so they don't have another choice but to make it in two parts. Otherwise, significant bits of the drama would get deleted, and we don't want that.

Holy cow! Cheng Yi as an emperor, demon hunter, and demon, I guess we're going to see a larger dynamic and spectrum of his impressive acting here. Looking forward to it.

Watching episode 6, I gotta say, I love Niao Niao's character, she's amazing and is able to stand up for herself. I love the scene when she is speaking with such good arguments and amazing logic, that her proud and unfair mother is absolutely left in the corner.

You sure? I read from some comments of the novel readers that the ending was not happy for the main couple, and I know they can change the ending in the drama, but who knows

I'm excited and scared at the same time, I know this is gonna hurt a lot lol. Just hope that Yan Dan and Tang Zhou will get their happy ending, and even if they don't, at least hope they'll execute the drama and overall ending well.

I'd rather this. I haven't read the book or anything, but an 80 episodes drama will likely make me really tired (unless it's really that engaging).

High-quality drama with top-notch acting, OST, sets, costumes, story, and excellent execution. The number of life teachings this has, and the amount of growth and depth of every single character leaves me speechless.
Surprisingly, I cried rivers in this drama (I wasn't expecting that at all) even at the most simple but meaningful moments like YPY being quiet, mopping the floor, or even just working on logistics. I felt a vast river of emotions, from rage, humiliation, frustration, nostalgia, impotence, and sadness to happiness, pride, glory, and excitement.
YPY and his comrades' journey is extremely touching, and I couldn't be more proud of him and all of his growth. I must say that I would have loved some recounters at the ending of this drama, but I'm actually satisfied with the ending because it ended up giving the most important message about being a soldier.
Highly recommended. Don't miss out on this gem.

You may check Youtube, if you want to watch it fully, you need to pay around 2 dollars (at least that's the price in my country), pretty affordable. Otherwise, each day a good amount of episodes get release, so you can also wait

I just ended the drama, and I have to say that unexpectedly, I enjoyed it a lot and had a really good time with this. In the beginning, it was a little harsh for me to adjust to the comedy and seldom serious environment, especially because Jinfeng acted a little overboard in the first episodes (I would just say in my mind in Chinese over and over again tai diu ren le) and I don't usually watch comedy gender. However, as I said to someone in this comment section, the episodes kept getting better and better and even got funnier.
The OST is something to praise, the intro song and particularly the one Jifeng was dancing to with all the palace servants were all super fun and nice to hear, and the songs at romantic and sad moments were pretty fitting and touching for the moment.
If you want to watch this and enjoy it, here are some reminders: Don't expect anything historically accurate, as they stated at the beginning of each episode "This work is fictitious. Any resemblance to reality is coincidental", the queen, the emperor, servants, and friends aren't going to behave as you expect them to. Sometimes the characters will make something that doesn't make sense, but it's absolutely hilarious and fun. Other reminder is that this drama is comedy over romance, but I did feel the chemistry between the leads and found LHY and JL really charming and endearing.
Anyway, the ending was, of course, a super happy ending especially because it ended with "ni bu fei wo bu fei bu fen fei" and ofc I danced with them to the final song.

Don't worry they will make an adorable couple and ML is really endearing and sweet with her :3. About what you first said, it's true, the beginning was a little hard to watch but from my experience it keeps getting better and better by episode, so don't get discouraged.

Oh, I see. I'll have to rewatch it then, it really looked legit for me lol. Anyway, I don't really care, as long as the characters in this story kiss, I'm fine xd.
