I think that Shi Yi fell in love with him at first sight, and for ZSC, it was progressive. I just know that in episode 3, when Shi Yi went to visit him in the military camp, he was already in love with her. You can tell from the look he gave her (RJL's eyes have thousands of feeling on them).
