I thought the same, but ZSC's character is just like that. He loves Shiyi but he cares way too much for the State and his people, that's why he said he didn't let down anyone, but Shiyi. The only space of time that he could have actually married Shiyi was when the emperor asked him about if he wanted someone, say yes and inmedialy get engaged to her, announce it so the empress couldn't give Shiyi's hand at free will to Guanling Prince. How I wish that he would have taken both, the bride and the throne (Or at least the bride). He could have been an amazing emperor.

20 hours left T-T Today’s episodes were really cute, ZSC finally fulfilled his promise and married her first. Looking forward to tomorrow’s episodes, the previews looked amazing. I realized that I really like slow burn romances. I like how they have been showing us slowly how their relationship develops, it feels natural and real, specially for two people who have no experience in dating at all, they show us every detail and I appreciate that. As someone who has watched tons of modern dramas, I can say that this one stands out. As ZSC said he likes that their relationship is growing closer with time, so do I, we have yet 18 episodes for them to grow more on one another, to go through trials and pain together, to love more each other… I just picture how amazing their bond will be in the final episode. This feels like my favorite kind of drama gender, just a slice of their life.
