You said exactly what I wanted to say, I feel really sorry that many people are just focusing on this skinship topic, saying that Allen shouldn't do romantic dramas when with just a gaze he delivers so much emotions. I love their relationship, it's really healthy, cute and supportive, plus we're getting by far more interactions and romantic scenes between the leads than in many other modern dramas. I wasn't either expecting kiss scenes, so I was already gladly surprised by their kiss. I read somewhere that actually what he did in these episodes it's already a breakthrough for his career.
Hope that we can focus in other aspects of the drama soon.

About FaE, so far up to this episode everything looks good for them and they have stick together too. As someone said in FaE comment section these external factors don’t harm their togetherness. Their mother does oppose to them, but she hasn’t do anything more than ignored her and as for the fiancée that ZSC’s family arranged for him, Tong Jiaren, she got married to someone else in the first episodes.
And yes, actually I’ve watched all the ones you’ve mentioned, I prefer this kind of couples too :3 .

About Empress Dowager, I just could say that she has a big desire to be the one in the power, controlling the whole empire was her wish. She planned to kill her own son because: first he’s grown up so she can’t use him as puppet anymore and basically be the one in power through him and second because he betrayed her (He had her imprisoned for over three years and tried to poison her) and I dunno that was a pretty big deal to her (even if she has been worse) and third because the dynamics of power within the palace and especially the harem (Emperor’s women) are filled with plotting, treason, and power battles, so probably she should have struggled a lot to be where she was.
I’m not sure if Liu Zi Xing is blood related to the late emperor (I think he’s not), I just know he was from the very powerful Liu family while the Empress was from the Qin family. Maybe she just decided to pick him to be the crown prince (as she did at will with the emperor spot).
Zhousheng Chen was indeed the second son of the late late emperor, so he was his majesty’s uncle. The only matter with ZSC is that he wasn’t the son of the Empress of that time.
