What I found fascinating in episode 6 is how Ayana is reflected in the two men featured in the flashbacks—Kotaro…
Well said! Everything in this episode was so painfully relatable. Especially the confession scene. There was something sad yet subtle in something he said. The girl he loves ended up being with a girl who wasn't the one who she wrote the song lyrics about. To me that shows how time stops when you love someone who doesn't love you back, but for the person you love, their life continues on. That person is likely loving, getting their heartbroken, and loving again, while you're trapped in a past that was never real. Anyway, that ending caught me off guard. Can't wait to see how she deals with it.
I only ever seen clips on YouTube (and maybe a full episode there too?) but when Netflix dropped this I had to give it a shot. Only one episode in and wow...... it's so intense! There's something so carthatic about seeing bullies get the smug grins beat off of them 👊🏽
I'm reading all the comments before I start watching again. It's so great to see this drama touch so many peoples lives! Really can't remember the last time a Kdrama made everyone on here all come together to cry hahaha
Got done watching ep 12 and wow! The ending was everything I hoped for but never thought I'd get: everyone being happy and content 😭 Looking at the comments and it's clear I'm in the minority with thinking how great this drama was. A lot of people who hated it seem to be too attached to "good and bad" characters when it's clear from the beginning the writer wanted to portray real multi-dimensional/flawed characters dealing with difficult life altering choices. I could rant here but I won't. Everyone is different I guess 😔
I dont think anyone has noticed Imada Mio’s cameo. She is basically her character in Ichiban Sukina Hana (2023)…
I knew she looked familiar! I kept saying "Hey that's Imada Mio! Wait....didn't she play a hairdresser in something before???? Wait IT'S THE SAME ROLE!"
Episode 11 wow! All the passive aggressiveness my boy Natsu was getting from everyone has reached a tipping point this episode. They now are letting him know how they really feel and it sucks so much to see him go through that!
At the same time, I get it. I guess everyone’s in the anger stage of grief or whatever, but still, lashing out at him isn’t right. They feel like letting Natsu raise her is like saying goodbye to Mitsuki a second time. So it’s expected that they would feel anger, but again, how they are treating him is far from being right. He’s really looking like an outsider even though that’s HIS kid.
I’m afraid to say it but the way things are looking now isn’t giving me much hope for a happy ending next week. I don’t even think I want a happy ending now. I think the best thing for Natsu to do might be to let Umi go. He can still have an active role in her life, but this episode showed that he’s not ready to take on the full responsibility of raising her on his own. On top of that, everyone is not ready to let her go. AND Umi herself isn’t ready to be away from the places and people that are directly connected to her mom.
Episode 10 really got to me 😭. This drama is really good at showing all of the characters perspectives. Their emotions, their thoughts and feelings all are valid.
The grandparents finally showing more grief and sadness as Natsu prepares to take in Umi was heartbreaking. To them, Umi is the last piece of their daughter. Nagumos saying"To put it harshly, it's like you're stealing her from us" was spot on. From their perspective, it's valid to think that even though it's not totally true. Natsu is Umis father, but the grandparents haven't really let go of their daughter. They are still grieving.
Are women only there for sex and intimacy for men? She wasn't in the mood and she communicated that to him, he…
No where did I say she's terrible for not being in the mood for sex and turning him down so I don't know where in my long rant you read this lol.
I know it's super easy to think of the fl as a saint when the ml is such utter piece of garbage, but hear me out: they are BOTH to blame. No she's not terrible for turning down sex. That was her right and she did the right thing. They are both adults who are responsible for their own actions. Just like how the human trashcan Otoya did what he did without considering Ichikos feelings, she's also to blame for allowing things to escalate in the way that they did. People read anything that isn't all bashing the ml as support for his actions and that is clearly not what I'm saying here lol
This is so frustrating to watch. The leads are terrible people. First off, Ichiko girl wtf?! Who just casually suggests their husband sleep around?! I know it's framed in a way to suggest she gave Otoya conscent but like come on! A proper conversation should have been had. She said it in such a jokey manner it hardly counts as giving him permission to have a sex with another person! Both their feelings should have been communicated right then and there. The drama excellently highlights this with Ichiko saying she knew Otoya was upset about their one sexless night but chose to ignore his feelings.
And don't get me started on the human trashcan Otoya! He was so quick to sleep with someone else after the FIRST night of not getting what he wanted. The. First. Night. Again, could've expressed how he felt at any moment but nope he chose to take Ichiko's words seriously?!
Even if there was some kind of misunderstanding or miscommunication they both should've talked to each other the morning after just like any mature couple would do right?! Right?!
Overall I'm not expecting a happy ending. These two are incompatible. If sex was such a important part of their relationship they should have expressed this to each other at some point before or during their 7 year long marriage uggggghhhh
