I was so excited after I watched the 1st episode. I thought this is going to be a good one. Everything went to hell for me after the older Suansoon went to the past and met the younger Ongsa. I couldn't get over the creepiness of the younger to older. I kept waiting for someone in the series to mention how inappropriate it was. Yikes for sure! Then the double return to the past to keep one then the other from dying just didn't make sense. Also, no details on how the returns happened or why they happened. Did they just will it to happen? Then the crying started... between that and the constant rerunning of other scenes ( we have already seen ) from other life paths was just boring and uneventful. This series could have been great. The younger couple was much more believable and genuine than the older couple. The producers should have seen that and utilized it more. The music was overly dramatic and repetitive. Not enough variety. I fast forwarded thru most scenes after episode 6. This was a big disappointment. I did like Nun played by Sine. Tor and Mix should get the lead in another series. A typical BL with those two would have been an 8.5 for me for sure! I gave this a 7.
Whomever decided that this series needed to change was....wait for it.....WRONG....surprises are good but there needs to be some set up and some hints....my point is this series had a rhythm..it wasn't a 10 but it was working...(at least for me it was)...consistency within the character and the story when working is worth keeping. Anyway I agree with most that is written below.... and the Toyota mini series...LMFAO...that's good for a full point reduction if not more!
The reunion in present time could have been awesome. No explanation at all. Very disappointing. I would have edited out a lot in the last 5 eps and had 2 eps with them both in present time and seeing Yai figuring out who he really was in his past life etc....then finding the house etc. Actually I'm not sure that's what really happened. That's what I assumed.
Please note that I post here when I want to connect to people whom have similar views to me or someone whom has something constructive or intelligent to say. When I read a post I don't agree with I consider it then I move on without comment. I posted the below a few days ago and the nicest thing I can say is is that my post was hijacked. Therefore, I'm reposting. Also, MDL takes reports of abuse, etc. pretty seriously.
******************************************************************************************************** It's weird...It's not weird...it's weird...it's not weird..and the final verdict is................................................................................................................................................................IT"S WEIRD.....
Seriously maybe I need to watch this again....I think I kept thinking they were going to cross the line! Maybe I didn't catch a lot of the attributes I see posted here in other reviews. Yes, ππto writers and producers for presenting a different type of human relationship and the turmoil associated with same sex relationship....no role models...no family or societal acceptance...In a general sense. I could go on....which all leads to communication issues and in this case weirdness.
However, to me this series seems like a stage play that was adapted to film. I think it needed more density. The intent and intensity seemed very inconsistent a lot of the time. I kept thinking Yoh was going to run away and I think he should have! To me his internal dialogue didn't match his outward behavior which is troublesome for me to watch and see. I hope to see Mashiko in a less controversial BL in the future. I think he could be very charismatic in the right role.
For me this series is half point better than Tin Tem Jai (6)...To me there is nothing likeable about KDiao's character and the relationships between him and Yi is schizophrenic. I can't see them as a couple. They talk about a subject or incident and then 3 lines later they are saying or doing something that contradicts what they just got done talking or fighting about. Even Yi's father was saying if he isn't successful he is out of the family...2 minutes later he's saying he's proud of his son. (???) Anyway, Max as Yi is played well and his character is at least likeable and understandable. Of course he's not bad to look at either. That counts too. For me the entire story about the tiger and the families and the arrangement is just irritating. It all seems to lack something... actions are not convincing, or genuinely portrayed,...the connection between Kdiao and YI is suspect because of the Lion attack and always will be. Still there is something lacking in the secondary characters mostly the family members.... the ones with hateful intentions are more irritatingly to me then engaging. Characters with ill intent can be engaging and at least interesting or entertaining. Kuea is really a better match for Kdiao than YI. I'd love to see a series with Max (Yi) and Est (On). Poor Zee (Lian) is like "you know I'm stuck here in the lousy BL and I'm doing the best I can!" LOL
I was mildly enthusiastic about this series after Ep 5,, but what happened in 6? Summary: I thought 1 & 2 were ok. 3 & most of 4 was a train wreck. This series was so hyped...so far it is a dud for me!
I'll get right to the point. It's not the Thai version and for me it never obtains any of the magic and awe that is in the Thai version. For me there was a flow issue and a clarity of intent issue with the actual scripting. I never really connected to any of the characters. I have a bit of a crush going on for Lee Jung Min, he was the most likeable character too. The females were all good, that's a plus, but the guys were difficult to get with for me. Otherwise quality was good, cinematography good, set scences etc. The music was ok. Watchable for sure. Rewatch not so much for me.
Dubbing is soooooo annoying that I'm going to have to drop this one. See below...The production team said "we should open our mind"...LMFAO....I'm out. (dropping)
