almost done with the show and I didn’t find the pacing an issue … interesting that a lot of other people did. it’s not a groundbreaking thriller or crime show but it’s entertaining with a thoughtful message, plot, anf character depth. thoroughly enjoying

on episode 15/16. dare I say this ML character is the closest to my ideal type? this entire drama, after cliches, is a raw story on different forms of love and lives coming together and coming apart. It’s beautiful, love the casting. I have kicked my feet fast and felt butterflies in other dramas, other MLs have had flaws or been icy and warm up , sure. Maybe it’s the storyline here or the actor, but this is a completely new feeling for me. He genuinely feels like a man and even simple caring sentences from him blow me away. It just feels so real. I can feel his thighs from his gaze, his arc of warming up was so gentle and well done. A masterful portrayal that has me wishing this maturity and love would meet me. I don’t really have any words otherwise…

I was crossing my fingers, praying my instinct would be wrong and he wouldn’t get scammed . I get him, I really do, the pressure, the thinking pattern, the comparisons. But to sign away that much money without your own research is not a reasonable decision, and I am so stressed for him and his family.

Title My Dearest Spoiler
Kdramas (historicals) barely show war scenes maybe a few and cdramas most is CGI, this is what I like about this…
dude that toenail removal scene had me in pieces. i don't like bloody scenes because they make me sad and that one had me so on edge i literally could not watch. i'm glad they didn't actually show us the action of what they did, the war scenes of people getting killed were sad enough for me. i feel like the king needed to stfu and stop the war asap instead of letting his pride win, because at that point, his fate wouldn't change. and they need to stop using jang hyun as a pawn, he's literally saving the nation single-handedly. the second something happens to that man it's over, they shouldn't be taking advantage of him like that. the island scene where they really ditched the people of this nation while there was room for some AND the baby really was disgusting because you're supposed to be protecting your people. In a war, you can't save everyone, but you can save SOME like come on... and the way they threw them in the more dangerous route like what is WRONG with you? Just escape together omg. It really showed the double-sided nature of the government that the people are so desperately fighting for, but it's clearly not fighting back for them. The dynamics and character thoughts are so well portrayed. It feels incredibly real, and knowing that they based their history off of real events makes it that much more impactful!

I WAS SO STRESSED. I've commented here before but I've never really felt war scenes because they were all the same. but this drama made me yearn for the people and understand the dynamics. I haven't felt this impact before. But the episode 7 preview looks like the war is over (thank god), but I guess we'll see!

I’ve seen my fair share of invasion and war scenes. Yet they shot this show in a way that made my heart wrench…

Title My Dearest
I’ve seen my fair share of invasion and war scenes. Yet they shot this show in a way that made my heart wrench and feel for every character in a way that I’ve never felt before. The villagers’ loyalty, love, and bravery is unlike anything I’ve experienced. Incredible writing, cinematography, and impact. Knowing the two leads through many of their previous shows, I knew this drama was going to be good. It’s surpassed my expectations even so. Looking forward to the rest of the show.

I'm loving this so far. However I have a big BUT about Yang Hee Joo's role, I have been trying to like and understand…
yeah that’s the one qualm i have too, the character seems a bit unecessary and irks me a bit, but you never know! i guess we’ll see if she has an impact

okay i’m not sure why there’s so many comments of being confused or not liking it- I think it’s a complex plot with a lot of characters and their individual goals. as we go on, we’ll unravel all of it. I think we’re just getting what the detectives are, so it can be confusing. but it’s not that bad and it’s a well-built story. not sure what people’s problems are but i like it

I really think synopses don't do dramas justice. I think it's always something to be taken with a grain of salt. Give the drama a shot before deciding if you like it or not.
