Besides iQIYI, I only have normal subscription too. I actually hope, that iQIYI will make 4K accessable to us and not only on their Chinese website. So I am waiting patiently. But still, so far I watch more iQIYI dramas compared to the others and it's okay. Since I made my subscription during the time it was less expensive 😅

In the past, when I had the normal VIP account, we could initially purchase the episodes via Fast Track. At some point, this option was cancelled completely, as apparently, according to iQIYI support, it would no longer be available on the German market. At the time, the legal basis was given as the reason.
However, this cannot be the case, as Fast Track was and is still available for WeTV, Youku and MangoTV at the time.
Ergo, there was no Fast Track for us, so I switched my account to Premium. Since then, the episodes have been unlocked directly.

What I'm trying to say is that it's quite possible that this option could also exist with a normal VIP account. However, I suspect that it is related to my premium account - kind of like SVP.
So I can't say for sure that it's the same for everyone, or just for our market.

In fact, they have translated the name of the drama ‘Da Meng Gui Li’ (大梦归离) as ‘Fangs of Fortune’. However, I forgot in which episode this was mentioned - I was very surprised when I saw and heard the translation and the spoken word. ‘Gui Li’ (归离) is also the strongest power the Baize Goddess has - a deadly sacrificial power.

You were right, actually - classically, Chinese idioms contain four characters. They do not have the meaning of the literal translation but stand for something much more profound and often have a philosophical approach.
Therefore, these deeper meanings cannot be found in dictionaries, such as the real meaning of the cold palace ‘leng gong’ (冷宫), which actually means deserted or lonely palace. Lonely because you have been banished there by the emperor and are only allowed to return if he authorises it. But the translation ‘lonely’, ‘deserted’ or ‘comparable to a desert’ (a drought) is unfortunately not found in dictionaries here in the West.

But now to the drama ;-)

The expression ‘Da Meng Gui Li’ means to leave the dream and return to reality. It describes the transition from dream to reality, from illusion to reality, and also reflects the psychological changes that people go through when they pursue their dreams and goals.

In the drama, Wen Xiao mentions to Zhao Yuan Zhou that her tears can turn demons (comparable to dreams) into humans (here reality). As long as she unleashes the divine Baize power and turns it into rain, everyone can be saved. ‘Gui Li’ (归离) is the Baize Goddess's final sacrificial spell - a deadly spell. So it can be said that what the title of the drama means comes to light, especially in the last episode.

Basically, it can be said that the title reflects the deeper meaning of the entire drama and is therefore a damn good choice, as it is always the recurring theme.
After all, it also means that people who have lost their way can find their way back to the right path.

For me, the dramas ‘Love Game in Eastern Fantasy’ and ‘Fangs of Fortune’ are currently the best.
These are more about philosophical aspects and the question of ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. Is what we see not the right thing and are we mistaken in the end?
As such approaches are more important to me, I like these two best. But I'm a fan of fantasy anyway...

‘The Story of Pearl Girl’ focusses very much on the revenge aspect and the storyline is, in my opinion, becoming repetitive - revenge, misunderstandings, revenge, misunderstandings. The acting performance is not included in this review.

So you have to watch the series yourself to get an idea of it.
