I really love the Emperor, but let's be honest, the Consort Yue would have been a better Emperor than him, if she was a man. She is more reasonable and fair, she doesn't take sides based on love or relatives.
But doesn’t this make the drama more beautiful, when we root for two excellent women and a beloved emperor?…
Yes of course! I'm not criticising this drama in the contrary. What I meant is that they took a new and hard road by making the 3 characters lovable instead of using an evil character to fill any plot gaps. And that what made this Drama more unique. I hope to see more dramas like this in the future, I'm tired from the repetetive plots that I mentioned above, it's always the same in K-drama and C-drama.
Now I get why usually in other dramas, they give us an evil consort who tries to take the Queen's place(or Empress), or a jealous Queen who hates the King's favorite concubine. That's because it's much easier for us, the viewers, we can easily hate the evil one and cheer for the other. Now the Consort Yue is one of my favorite characters, yet I feel so bad for the Empress everytime I see the Emperor with Consort Yue.
The Emperor was like the director of LBY's punishement scene: "Ask the person stopping Shaoshang to let go slightly, so Shaoshang can get closer to Zisheng." Lmao😂

I agree with you, Kang Se Ah was very annoying all the time and then suddenly she became better, I wasn't really expecting any character developpement for her I just wanted her to desapear lol. I like Introverted Boss too, I'm actually thinking about rewatching it right now.
This drama would have been very popular if it was aired in the recent years and got streamed on netflix in the same time, like "A business proposal". Anyway it's my confort zone, watched it 8 years ago and when I need a good laugh I just go back to it. I think it's the perfect romcom I've ever watched (and I've watched many). It was so hilarious, the cast is perfect, great chemistery between the Leads, (I wish we could've seen more of Han Groo it's sad that she is not acting anymore), great characters devloppement, great sound effect that made the scenes more funny, that confusing scene in the first of every episode that always kept us wondering what is going to happen in the end of the episode, I really congratulate the director for his wonderful work, and the drama has one of the most perfect endings. I laughed in the first scene in ep1 and laughed in the last scene in ep16, that's how a romcom should be.
