I'm gonna rewatch it on crunchyroll. So far I have only seen ep 1 again and I must say I was quite satisfied with the subs there. They may not be word-by-word accurate translations but some dialogue lines made more sense in English.

For one, Kurosawa even said were they matching rings, Adachi would never wore it to work and risk someone seeing it, getting too curious and pestering him (I'm looking at you, Urabe). Second, Adachi loves stationery and a pen is something he can always have with him inconspicuously. For me it shows how awfully sweet and thoughtful Kurosawa is. And to be honest, the proposal was amazing. So idc if it's rings, pens, or something else. They have something to remember that special moment. And that's what counts.
