I feel the same...... it's draggggggginnnnngggg. Like they are adults do you really have to be all timid? It's actually frustrating for me.

You know what at least give her a hint and lead her so that she can find out on her own how bad her dad is..... Instead it's like she's to innocent like gawd she's the Empress let her Empress.... Okay I'm done ranting now I saw someone say they love to hate this drama I think I'm feeling this.

I agree with everything you said. Lol just had to say that because I hate non communication. It just makes it worse in the end.

I'm just as frustrated as you! And yes she drinks it. I seriously hate when a ML makes the decisions and hides things because in the end the ML just doesn't respect her enough to actually communicate. I mean yes I get it... It's a drama but in real life that's your ride or die you need to communicate and work together otherwise what the hell is the point of your relationship!

I know I'd love to watch a drama with the main lead actually staying in the past and just living their happy lives.

Right but I think it's because of China's censorship rules/laws. From what I've read characters can't physically stay in the past or present it has to be a dream. Apparently they had an issue with people offing themselves in the past with dramas being like you can go live another life if you leave this life sort of thing. This has been in the past decade or something I don't know exactly (I've only started seriously watching Chinese dramas in the past 2 years). From what I've read from other drama enthusiasts is that they the Chinese government made rules for dramas and movies. It sucks because you see many dramas that end like this..... It was a dream. But I'm happy that they both apparently had a dream.

The beginning had all this tension and promise and it's like it deflated like popped balloon. I'm ranting now because I did finish the series but I found myself hitting the 10 second skip button a lot. It's like why have a romance drama with no actual kiss scenes.

I literally just fast forwarded the last episodes. It's really disappointing because from what I've read in the comments the book is steamy. I put the spoiler tag but I don't even think my comment is a spoiler. This had so much potential to be an exciting drama. He can only look lovingly at her so much. It's like throughout the drama you just have to 'assume' yes they slept together when they were together in the hotel room or they did kiss. The tile has the word PASSION and it fell flat. I get the cuts lovey dovey stuff but common! Wow I just ranted. Lol

Nope they are not similar. This is a more be in love passionately drama lol but in a sweet kinda young lovey dovey way. There aren't any intense kiss scenes (see below comments there's lots of discussions about the actresses contract etc.). Buuuut there are hints at their passion like in ep 18.

They left it open ended in a way but the nuance is they "eloped" meaning they "unalived" themselves on the day after their wedding. The scene by the white olive tree at the end is almost like they're in the after life, hence the white glow they have around them. In the novel they get married, have kids and he persisted for 10 years with his PTSD before "unaliving" himself. Honestly this is one of the emotionally wrecking Chinese dramas I have ever watched.

I don't know what episode you're on right now but I'm midway through episode 6. It's the character that I find annoying. From what I see of Song Ran she has been beat down her whole life by her mom and I hate it. It irks me and I just want her to be way more confident in herself but her upbringing is still affecting her. I'm hoping to see some character development during this drama. I'm guessing these 2 main leads are still in their 20's so they're coming to terms with themselves, their lives etc. I feel like Li Zan's character is incredibly patient and he's got the googly eyes for Song Ran since they met in the most dramatic way possible. I dunno sorry for the long reply lol. I've never been on the comments section of a drama as much as I am with this one. I dunno if it's a good thing or a bad thing. It's nice to talk to people that are watching the same drama!

People have already posted the ending to the novel in the comments section. Someone even forgot to put a spoiler tag! Anyway yeah someone already said it's going to be open ended based on the scenes that were filmed.

Yes thank you for posting this. I was also thinking of dropping the drama because of the ending. If they leave it at marriage then I'm happy! LOL

I agree LOL. In light of how sad this drama is getting thank you for your comment lol. I also wish they would get bigger guys to play these types of roles. Huang Jing Yu/Johnny Huang seems like a bigger guy and Xu Kai when he's not starving himself to play roles.

I'm only on episode 3 and I'm already annoyed at the mother and I feel so sad for Song Ran. Off the top of my head I can't remember names but there are some dramas out there where parent's are supportive of their children and have positive relationships. But in this drama I feel like it's on another level. I hope it gets better.

I'm only on episode 2 and I'm already hesitant to continue. I did the whole Google search to find out what happened in the novel and now that I know I'm not sure I want to continue. If they follow the novel I think I'm going to be scarred. You can message me directly if you want to find out what I found out. I don't want to put it on here for everyone to read.
