Joe Odagiri as Oliver the dog was such an odd touch of humor on this. Really liked the eccentricity of the leads. Wish it was longer and also, this cast was the most stellar one!
Quite a pilot episode, well acted and paced with an interesting story about her being a rookie probation officer. Closely following this and thank you for the subber who pick this up!
Is it just me, or the clue behind the shiitake mushrooms the detective has been eating and prepared by his girlfriend and the ML's neighbor leaves on clues who might be the culprit?
This is my first time hearing the term Fenian fire in a drama. Also, the mystery deepens as it progresses, it may be too early to reveal the real Chimera at this point. That guy who delivers mineral water with explosives could be a copycat one.
Episode 9 highlights an emotional high for every character in the series, most especially So-Hee and how she dealt with the death of her father. I find this series to be consistent on balancing humor and drama, and loved how Buk-Gu showed warmth and concern to her throughout her experience of grief. The scene with him getting drunk after one drink was hilarious.
This series loses steam real fast. Timelines intersect that is just so confusing to watch; hodgepodge of ideas that doesn't mesh together (rescue, supernatural, disaster, slice-of-life, drama, action, mystery) and doesn't click at all; inconsistent editing and direction; and ultimately, I never felt any chemistry with this cast at all. I may have immensely enjoyed this as a character study of them saving lives and the disasters they experience.
It feels the plot never reaches a peak, just ideas, dialogues and arcs that never fully developed. The dual structured narrative is its own downfall, not its monsters.
Loved that twist at the finale, what I liked about it was that she wasn't a detective per se in the modern time, but her power to time travel and her determination to solve cases was enjoyable to watch. Wish it has longer episodes though!
This was such a fun drama, and a great food themed series that was never boring. Probably my favorite food dorama so far as it was all well-balance on the comedy, action and lessons on life.
Episode 5.. Tragic case and how they uncovered the clues was gripping, and in turns greed and money can turn people into monsters. Each episode gets better than the other.
