She married into the Wei family, even thouh Wei matriarch didn't want it, because her family was not nobility. Then after her husband died, she became emperors concubine. From their conversation, my guess is she and the emperor have history, but he couldn't marry her because of her status, but after she became Wei furen her status elevated. So when she became a widow, taking her as a concubine became more plausible.

Did you actually read the premise? That's not FL. Actual FL is the girl they will find to impersonate the one who throws a tantrum and she has a very different temperament. Sure, she's played by the same actress because they needed to be lookalikes, but that's like saying Catherine is the FL in Vampire diaries

They were also planning to kill A-Chou and make it look like she followed her husband. Probably to eliminate the chances of someone seeing them together and comparing. As it is the era with no internet and no photos, this actually is plausible, since it will make gaslighting people easier, because not a lot of people actually have seen Wei Rao at all

Well, they already said they will bring her in as a distant cousin that looks very much like Wei Zhao. She also could move to a different city, or cover her face in public, it's said she didn't go out that much before either.
That being said, I don't consider Wei Rao all that smart, she's all hysterics, arrogance and spite. All her actions afterwards show her as impulsive person, who doesn't care about consequences or other people. So she probably didn't actually think it through.

Gotta say they did Yan An dirty with this voice actor. In his previous roles his own voice added a lot of nuance to his acting. Here the character is already a stiff army general, so he needs to be very restrained and then the voice just makes him sound like a commercial, it has no emotion, no nuance at all.
On a good note the whole plot to get Lu Zhuo jealous and make her status more legitimate was funny as hell, he really goes blind when it comes to her.
On a not so good note, I hope they'll end this revolving door of testifying people after the one in the next episode, or it'll get very repetitive very soon

He does know her, they were betrothed since childhood. They might not be close, but from their conversation, when he said he's going to break the bethrotal it was obvious that her pushing that girl was the last straw not the first and only problem, the things before that probably just weren't as severe

This voice to me doesn't sound like an actual person, more like anime voice acting. Too stiff, too exaggerated, but no nuance. Like a commercial or tv annoucer.

Yes, both VOS and FOF were his real voice. I am not completely sure, but it seems like GJM expects all actors to voice themselves in his dramas. I also had some cognitive dissonance when I heard him speak in this drama, but got used to it eventually. Not sure what's the reason, his own voice would have suited the character just fine

I mean, where would the assumption even come from. They look way too similar. Even if there's doubt, who would just jump to conclusion that there's a different person who looks exactly the same?
He definitely can tell that something is wrong, but the truth is too far fetched for him to be completely sure.
