I enjoyed first 15 ep or so a lot (idr exact ep) but after that, the plot doesn’t make much sense

that makes sense. i am watching with iqiyi so subtitles are not that great but i know a little bit of chinese so it was ok for me.

it does seem like there are a lot of stuff going on and subtitles went fast, maybe try to rewatch the scenes again?

i also thought they would do the usual misunderstanding thing when it started but was relieved when she realized in the next scene.

that was before she knew about the golden lotus thing. she prob thought she was gonna die or prob won’t see him again. not sure but it was pretty stupid of her to do the dangerous thing that could kill her instead of patiently cultivating to marry the ml.
