it's already explained that Awataguchi is a dangerous and powerful person, It's a suicide mission if they didn't have enough and new evidence. The time Awataguchi want to start the Post-graduate university project(Around episode 4-6) is the perfect time for them to fight back. And only Ban and Wanibuchi (and probably Mochizuki) that have grudge towards Awataguchi before Wanibuchi tells the whole truth.
But this is more like a "Trick" movie rather than Keizoku.
