i appreciate the relationship being subtle and mostly character-setting rather than being the focus of the show but i would also love a prequel about how they got together :p

I feel the same about the characters in kbls 🙁. I haven't been able to get into them because of this... However, an exception for me is 'Love for Love's Sake', I really liked the characters in this one and there's a good plot to it as well! Really recommend it if you haven't already tried ❤️

much more reminiscent of the older -early 2010s- saeguks than most coming out at this time 👍 (not claiming that all historical dramas should be aiming to replicate it but it's just very nice to see it). It's understandable that newer historical dramas are trying to attract a wider audience by including comedy or supernatural/fantasy elements but I've missed this 🥲

Yeah, I was shocked that the CP selection only ran across 3 episodes ( it really felt more like 2 wow) and crown princess being chosen in like 1 ep felt really quick (but it makes sense since the Queen and QD were both rooting for CH). I prefer this fast pace to older historical dramas though, I'm not losing interest at all despite watching it while it's ongoing! It's also the fact that the Queen is smarter and thinks ahead that we get to skip a lot of unnecessary drama. Go Queen!!

QD really got nothing better to do other than scheme. She should really just enjoy palace life in her old age lmao how is getting power benefitting her if she ain’t going to live that much longer
