The op is obviously talking about idol dramas and yes, his comments do apply to idols dramas as most of the audiences are female demo, there is a lot of female fantasy elements are added like having multiple male admirers, these admirers always be of higher status than female lead. There is another trope I find it ironic is female lead can have past romantic relationships be it either through dating or marriage while male lead is always shown to be single and having no relationship experience at all . Whenever I encounter this tropes, I consider this shows aimed at female audiences and I do not mind them at all from time to time but if they drag these tropes for more than multiple episodes than I will drop them.
Also, I do consider these characters that are part of these tropes as useless and only degrade the show, This was the point op making as there dramas are just adding fan service for female audience and not adding any value to a non female watcher.
Watched the first episode due to good reviews but nothing caught my interest as I am tired of overused tropes like married fl with cheating husband, cold general ml, ml having higher status than fl, slomo shots, etc. There was one thing which I liked was both ml and fl being reborn. So there should be no comments on dramas not released yet but why are there so many comments already on this page then. My comment is literally about me being dissatisfied with the fact that daylight entertainment making a drama with two idol actors as main leads who can't act. Their dramas did had idol actors before but only as part of an ensemble cast and these idol actor portrayed characters often end as up being the worst part of their respective shows

I don't know who you are to ask me to leave this page. I have the same right to comment on cdrama as you do. I was interested because it's a daylight entertainment drama and now I'm not that interested due to the reasons I listed above. Don't tell me, you are one of those idol fanatics who can't accept any negative comment about their favorite idols

lol I also notice these things in the comments section for these type of dramas. The c industry is becoming worse each year. Always targeting the same audience, it's no wonder the views for these idol dramas keep on decreasing each year

I agree with you, recommending dramas like dashing you and fangs of fortune for men is little bit weird as they are still targeted to women audience. Do they think men like watching a group of pretty boys in these dramas as all these type of dramas tend to push for bromance/friendship between male leads rather than focusing on romance b/w male lead and female lead? I mean these dramas do not cater to male fantasy at all, I also would like to watch a historical drama where male lead has lower status than female lead and also focuses on male lead starting a business and his growth. The rest of all recommendations are mostly republican/crime genre.
Finally completed watching, the drama maintained it's quality throughout and everything wrapped up quite nicely without any rushing in the final episodes. Will miss all the characters in the future
Yes, recent cdrama male leads often have low self esteem and lack of self respect. The fl indirectly rejects him without much reason, avoids him for many years and tries to date other guys while he keeps pining for her without even trying to move on lol
Personally, the best cdrama I watched in last couple of years. From acting, story, writing everything is amazing. Also, finally a cdrama where comedy does bring a smile.
