Oh, I never watched anything with this actor before but he's HOT! It's natural to create expectations but sometimes we need to differentiate between misleading writing and our projections.
I was also talking about Buyeon. The writers mentioned time and time again she's powerful, but they didn't show her properly to us for a reason. They COULD but they chose not to. That should send some hints that this charcter, although powerful and important to the story is not meant to be developed bc it's just a plot device.

He was going to do that Master Lee making it clear or not. He left Daeho fortress because he couldn't stand being around knowing what he did to the ones he loved. He made it clear he didn't want Uk to live as the son of a sinner, which means he deeply regrets his doings. He was running wild anyways, there was nothing he could do to make it up for his 20 years of absent father.

I thought you meant the proposal lacked passion. But answering your question "are they the same person who work together to gain their power since ep 2? " the answer is no. They went through a lot of stuff together and it took them some life-threatening situations to realize some things are not worth it.
