She moved on. Just because of that diary she found in 2021. She was just hit with nostalgia or whatever and went back to tunnel. Those are sweet memories for her, why can't she remember them.
Suppose HeeDo didn't break up with YiJin there and continued to stay in relationship.
YiJin comes back from NY, then they meet up some times, then YiJin goes back to NY. He goes their gets depressed, doesn't call HeeDo often, doesn't share anything, HeeDo has to watch him on news and feel sad.
Even if he comes back to Korea, he still does the same, will always be busy, cancel plans all the time. He is basically becoming reflection of her mom, and HeeDo doesnt want that.
On other hand YiJin needs to work hard to bring his family back together.
Atleast 1 of them needs to compramise which both of them are not doing .
Atleast HeeDo tried very hard for the relationship after the kiss when YiJin is backing off . This time YiJin should have gone after HeeDo but he didnt, instead went to NY and become successful.

If you still can't understand why they broke up, go rewatch the scene at tunnel where they argued, listen to what HeeDo is saying and also rewatch the scene where YiJin is reading HeeDo diary and focus on what she wrote. She is mentally exhausted and can't take it anymore. YiJin too understood that, he will not spend more time with heedo and will be same as her mom. It is rushed, but it is what it is. YiJin always says something but doesn't stick with it till end.
The point of that scene kinda proved us that Yijin has not moved on. No way he didnt remember his passwd but remember…
YiJin can't move on because he is so so busy that he can't date anyone else, that's the reason why HeeDo broke up and that's the reason why he is still single yet. Maybe after becoming anchor he will get some free time and get married.

With yurim and jiwoong it's different, jiwoong is ready to put yurim first above everything. But that's not the case with YiJin ,both YiJin and HeeDo puts their career first.
I don't get it why many are so angry, that's what writer has been showing from Ep1. And the break up is legit and it's understandable, but writer should have shown it bit more convencing, but from Ep15 it's clear even before YiJin went to US, she really tried hard to hold it till last minute but she couldn't, HeeDo doesn't want to be with someone like her mom and yijin is career oriented and never puts HeeDo first because he needs to earn fast to get his family back together. Both love each other but meet at wrong time. They could have just taken some time off from each other to get their priorities sorted. Even YiJin would have get used to the job and be less depressed.
The reason for breakup is legit from HeeDo pov.. think of it. HeeDo doesn't want to live with YiJin like she lived with her mom. HeeDo can't ask YiJin to don't go to NY, and yijin always puts his career ahead of HeeDo. And yijin didn't even spend much time with HeeDo because of work. HeeDo is mentally exhausted for few months when YiJin is in NY. She is worried for him, but he doesnt call much share much. How do you expect the relationship to work like this and with YiJin already decided to move to NY.
