Even before YiJin went to US, he was cancelling plans like he did dinner plan with her mom. Despite that she is holding up. She wrote in the diary, give me mental strength to not give up, but how much longer can she hold, there is lack of communication from YiJin. everyone has some expectations in a relationship, HeeDo wants YiJin to share his sadness also. You can understand that from her diary how she wrote. I still feel YiJin is at wrong here, continuing to work in NY without asking HeeDo, he could have gone after HeeDo after breakup without going to NY or come back after new months, but i don't see YiJin doing all that. That's how his last 2 eps character is written, we can't help it.

She need to rejoin another school to take CSAT probably, so it will be on her record like dropped out, she doesn't want that. So she decided to o study that year again.

YiJin already used to smoke cigerette and alcohol when depressed or sad. The NY just made it worse.

I would have said 2521 if YiJin HeeDo made it together at end. In 1988 as i said even with 90min episodes, we got very less screen time for the leads, that I didn't like, they even got less screen time than 3 ajhummas. So 9.5 for reply1988 and 9 for 2521.

And if you think you can't handle sad ending, stop the drama as soon as you heard 9/11

As someone down said you can still watch it to EP15 new year scene, you can just end it there as a happy ending, 10/10 till then, personally even after that I liked the ending, it's sad but not bad. Its a solid 9/10 overall. Godd thing is you already knew it's a sad ending, so instead of hoping for them to end up together like we all did, you might focus on why they didn't and you may get it, it's sad really sad, but still not a bad drama. Its ok to watch a sad drama once in a while 😅

Will we ever see namjoohyuk and kimteri in single frame again reel or real life 😭

You can be sad and angry by the ending, but reading some comments feels like they are missing the whole point of this drama.
