I'm loving Tastefully Yours and the Haunted Palace, but this drama is pulling me back to watching kdramas. Never been excited like this for a kdrama in a while. Hope this show is a gem until the end.
I super loved the chemistry of the leads in this show. What made enjoy this less in the latter parts is they wrote one-dimensional villains - the mother-daughter princesses tandem. Both are just selfish bunch of privileged assholes who felt wronged and the world owes them plus didn't acknowledge their mistakes until the end. The princess royal here is a very weak villain compared to The Double's Princess Wan Ning - she's evil but you understand her motivation. I probably will still rate this as an 8, but this has a very low rewatch value.
There's a clumsy, nerdy way about him. Like he's so cunning and smart and great at fighting, but with one look you can't tell. He's also not aware that he's handsome, but he carries himself well. Plus he's also a doting father, and so very possessive of the FL. If he's ugly, he's my kind of ugly.
