yeah I know what you mean. I would have loved to see this version. But not possible unfortunately in CN at least. The drama TS is not bad to me and I kinda like his sensitive side. I see the drama one more like a Luffy in one piece or a Kirito in SAV. haha

There is and it is a pity for the reincarnation part and they cannot make Tang San as smart and strategic as in the novel and donghua but make him evolve step by step.

I think it is ok if you prefer Soul Land. I love it too but I am enjoying the drama too as I see it as a separate work. It seems that it is also what the author wanted. I have my own version of Tang San and the story but I still like the drama because it brings me other things. I saw many novel/ manga or animation adaptations and some were awful but here acting and cgi are good so I don't mind.

I loved the donghua version and first I thought that the pace was a bit slow in the drama but it got more interesting after episode 6 ;-)

Not huge but still fairly OK. If it stays constant it might reach 4-5 billion views. some big shot dramas 3-5 years ago got over 25 billions but you never if some views got bought or not (according to my CN friend who loves dramas).

The pace is slow first but to me it got more and more interesting. It takes time to install the plot and the characters.

Not sure Tang San really believed it but he is quite lost about his father and also feels responsible for what happened to his friend which he probably considered like a little brother.

The music is sometimes weird but refreshing in a way haha
I agree for Rong Rong. Bratty but not a bad heart.

He is different but I would not say he is lame. He is evolving and changing progressively. Of course it is sad that he cannot be like the novel or the donghua but unfortunately censorship is harsh.

Rong Rong is indeed interesting. Really spoiled but improving because of his strong sense of value for friendship. I loved how she said that even if her partners are lunatic, she will stay by their side.

High pitched female voice very typical in Japanese dramas or animations and it got on my nerves too. There are always some characters we don't like so it is ok. Zhu Qing sister really badass haha

There is a big cultural difference about this "female" cuteness. In some European countries, most women do not try to act cute on purpose but in some Asian countries many do and want to be seen as cute. I like the tough female characters, not depending on a man, strong and reliable on themselves. That is one reason I do not like many Asian female male romances.

I totally understand your point and me too, I am not into cute female characters and that is why I do not read many shojou manga. I also prefer Zhu Qing. But to my surprise Wu Xiao got better or I got used to her hahaha. In the donghua, it was worse to me. I really did not like her.

Probably because this platform seemed more for drama "lovers"/ watchers. It is probably difficult to find a good balance as in all cases we are fans. Fans of the donghua, fans of the novel, fans of some actors, fans of dramas etc. Opinions can be very different. One thing I learn from my long past experience with animes/ mangas is that you can rarely find common ground between the diverse adaptation fan types. I was wondering if it would be easier to have convos with mention only for donghua/ novel fans or only forDC newbies ;) or OK for all. Just a crazy idea perhaps. I just wish everyone could express themselves freely.

Oh i only meant as an impression from the animation characters. And around the same stage as now in the drama (ep 15).In the novel, I would say the same thing as you or even a bit older ;-)
I like his character very much and I am very happy the chosen actor is doing so well. Nice discovery to me :-)

so i am not the only one haha thrown off by the manga. I read many many many of them and I rarely dropped them if I liked the anime/ donghua but I could not continue. hahaha

I saw many novel/ Donghua lovers complained about the drama adaptation and the complaints were not drown. I loved more the donghua than the novel. I am a book worm but I am big fan of the donghua version. A lot changed in the drama version but I am still enjoying it, more and more as the story continues, talking about it with friends, make them discover the other versions and hopefully be able to discuss more about the other versions very soon. I saw so many drama adaptations which were really bad. Bad cgi, bad acting, fake chemistry etc. Here I do not have those complaints. Different but not bad to a point I would drop it or not recommend it. Censorship had to be avoided and many things had to be sacrificed. Drama is done and cannot be changed for this first part but those points to be improved could be addressed to Tencent for Part 2.

in the drama I gave TS max 17 and over 30 for XG. and in the donghua max 35-40. Funny how impressions are. I like XG in the drama and got a better understanding of him at this stage of the story.
