Something about Chinese BL/bromance casting being perfect all the damn time like I've never seen a ship from China that doesn't eat! Be it bromance or BL
Shirasaki is being manipulative. That's exactly what I thought when he made the whole role offer thing about himself.
"Ofcourse, the offer from the UK is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Ofcourse many people want that. But is he trying to guiltrip Asami because he said he might reject it? Shirasaki is seeing the flashiness of that role but he's not seeing the pain it'll inflict in Asami if Asami says yes. I would expect him to look beyond the glamour and see how much Asami is hurting, how much he was hurt by his father. It is not just a book written by his father, it is Asami's reality. It is well within his right to say no to an offer that'll make him uncomfortable. Accepting and playing that role could potentially inflict more trauma on his mental health but obviously, Shirasaki doesn't care about that. All he cares about is standing on equal footing with Asami." This was really my thought initially 😭
Even when he asked Asami to do what he wants instead of what his mom or dad wants, it still did not make a difference. I really do think Asami deserves better.
Shirasaki's actions in this episode really bothered me. If I were in a relationship, I'd be more mindful of personal boundaries. Like, why would you let someone wipe something on your lips without flinching? Or sit next to them instead of your partner? It felt like he was being too comfortable with Kuroki.
And then he had the nerve to accuse Asami of being jealous. I think Asami deserves better than someone so oblivious. Even Yamase seemed to notice something was off but you, the boyfriend was asking him "You did not have fun?" Like your boyfriend is obviously depressed, going through a lot emotionally and you don't know a damn thing about it. Lol
They never made it to the Other Shore but they are never going to be pawns again. They might not be able to walk in the sunlight at the moment but eventually, they'll cast away their shadows.
Dating someone like Shirasaki in RL must be exhausting. He exhausts me just from watching him. He doubts himself, seeks approval and recognition but when he gets one, he doesn't believe it. He acts like he treasures Asami but I don't feel like he actually does. He is an overthinker, he thinks too much about little things. For example, whenever Asami comforts him, he goes "am I being a bother?" I mean, he is your boyfriend for Christ's sake, if he doesn't comfort you on days when you feel low, who will? It all boils down to low self esteem if you ask me.
As for Asami, I feel he's a withdrawn character. He doesn't say much about what he feels but his actions speaks louder most times. I think that's why I feel like he's the only one who's actually trying to make this relationship work . He's a complex character actually, when he's sad, I get this overwhelming gloomy feeling like I am in an enclosed stuffy space. When he's happy, I still can't shake off that feeling of someone who's lost.
When I watched S1 of At 25 in Akasaka, it did not leave a strong impression but this S2 is really so good. It is frustrating but in a good way. I enjoy every episode. The melancholic atmosphere draws you in, with each episode, I feel like I am somewhere inside the film, in a corner, looking at everything play out.
With all that has been happening and even though I'll prefer a happy ending, I feel I won't be sad if they end up going their separate ways either. But something tells me Asami's soul will be crushed if that happens.
Y'all should hol up! I just made a groundbreaking discovery 😭😭😭😭 OMG THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON? JINGNA IS KENG HARIT??? OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD JESUS CHRIST HOW DID I NOT NOTICE!!!??????
Too short ahhhhhh😭 JBls have to stop this thing where that release 6/8 episodes with 23 minutes duration 😭 If you are going to keep the duration short, atleast keep the number of episodes long like up to 12 or something 😭
Did not manage to dethrone When it Rains it Pours but it was an 8 regardless ❤️

Also, I don't understand what happened after he went to the UK, is this like Every You Every Me?
Need them to have a full series 🥺
