Yes I also wanted him to fight for her and grovel if need be. Even though he chose to let NN go in words, in deed he was still lurking and silently protecting her. Maybe he's waiting for his chance to get back into her life? Drama's not perfect but I love it nevertheless. Although there were a few loopholes and some scenes that they could have done better but I enjoyed watching every single episode. So many loose ends tied up nicely and the family reconciliation was so heart warming. I shed a few tears when NN reconciled with her mother. I laughed when NN's grandma reminisced and counted her blessings under the stars boasting that this time she will get the dowries. LOL ........ I love, love this drama and I hope they give us an extra episode for the epilogue stuff.

I also bought the express and yes the scenes are really intense. I binge watch it and I was like that crazy lady in a dark room in the middle of the night and I was crying and laughing and swooning. LOL ...... this drama is like a roller coaster. It took it's time taking us up to the highest peak then falling down fast. I love the scriptwriting and the directing and the acting. I just wished though that season 2 have been longer even by 2 episodes. The ending was rushed and we didn't get to see the CP's wedding! But over all it was a great drama! Director please! Can we have at least 1 or 2 episodes focused on epilogue?

Yes Wu Lei is a superb actor. Hands up he's simply the best at what he does. I wish they'd have another collab again with Director Fei!

It was building up since he saw his father murdered by his uncle. Everything he did was to reach that point where he can avenge his father himself. That is why when the last link to the Gu city massacre was murdered (i.e. Peng Kun) he lost hope and fell into the pit of darkness. There was simply no turning back for him. It consumed him day and night. As what he said to NN, when he sleeps at night, he sees blood drenched and the faces of the slain. In a way, I felt sorry for him and quite understand him a bit.

I read the novel since I had withdrawal when WRTW finished airing. LOL .....

It was a great drama and Lusi and Yang Yang's chemistry was swoon worthy! I always love Lusi and I watched the drama for her regardless of the negative comments going around from their pairing. From the beginning, there were already bad rumors (scandal they called it but I don't agree!) about Lusi mostly and how she is not suited to pair with YY. They were proven wrong ofc since WRTW did very well especially with the international audience.

Ep 48 is so full of angst. My heart still hurts from watching it. I hate violence but somehow I feel that Ling Yi's death is just too easy for him. After all the innocent lives he sacrificed for his greed, he should have been allowed to live in the dungeon with the vermin and dregs of society. His suffering should have been longer. LBY shouldn't be held accountable for what happened since his uncle had people who are skilled in fighting planted in the banquet. If LBY and his guards didn't fight their way through, they would have been the ones dead.

Ep 47-48 made my heart so heavy. I feel so sad for LBY who lost his only family and the last thread to avenge his family. His uncle is so shrewd and evil I bet he is behind Peng Kun's supposedly 'accidental death'. I feel for NN who is willing to trust LBY and give her all to him but he kept deliberating until all chance to tell her the truth is lost. But in the midst of all these madness and sadness, there is still humor to be found in the drama. NN's father crying while NN and YY were talking was so funny. LOL ...... he called LBY a brat.

I think Zisheng is LBY's nickname in the palace because he was like no.11 son (although adopted) of the emperor. Your first question: what I know is that Zisheng was switched with the real LBY (who died) during the war of Gu bec his uncle seek to annihilate his clan. From what I gathered from previous spoilers here and there, this was to keep him safe.

Grand Tutor Lou's wife was exiled to her hometown while he was kicked out of the palace. He didn't really commit any crime so his punishment was light. I do feel bad for Lou Ben's wife and Lou Ben himself. However, LB made the wrong choice. There are other ways of achieving his ambitions without sacrificing innocent people's lives. LBY has a lot of respect for him and he could have waited it out. LBY would find a way to make him an official of the court.
