For me, a hopeless romantic, LBY definitely deserves a second chance. We all do. Like you said, he has done so much for NN all for her happiness and safety (i.e. special edict he requested from emperor during her engagement ceremony with LY, saving her life countless times, avenging her from the palace bullies, etc). His love also runs deep. But this revenge plan has been put into motion since his tragic experience during his childhood. For him, the souls of his departed family will not rest in peace until he has avenged them. It has eaten him to his very core. Meeting NN wasn't part of his plan but it happened and he started to have a bit of sunshine in his life. If maybe they had more time to deepen their bond, LBY wouldn't have acted impulsively. (I think) Maybe he would have been able to control himself. But like I said, this revenge plan is deeply ingrained within his very existence it was impossible for him to ignore the chance to avenge his family. Methinks, the chance to carry out his long-term plan drowned out the voice of reason and he went crazy for a bit and exacted his revenge. But in fairness to LBY, even in his punishment, he still thought of NN's well being albeit he didn't consider how she really feels. Typical macho man! LOL .....

I imagine her love goes deeper than that. People who love deeply can always find it in their heart to give the other party a chance to redeem themselves no matter how deep their betrayal. Everybody deserves a second chance I think. In LBY's case, all his life, he'd planned to vindicate his clan. Every move he made and every decision was to get to this point. NN was a blessing that light the path to a detour which he forgot when he snapped. It's like he's a runaway freight train that is moving way too fast it's impossible to slow down at this point. I think that NN will finally come to accept this part of LBY and eventually forgive him.

Because we can't get enough of LLTG. Especially when it's non airing day, we miss LLTG so we come here! He he he .......that's me ofc.

The emperor also does not believe that NN's father defected but he is pressured to uphold the law by his court officials so even though he wants to spare NN's family he cannot. He needs to have solid evidence and those minted copper coins needs to be found to prove the father's innocence. I think LBY will help NN track down her father and prove his innocence. In the meantime, the whole family has to be detained for interrogation because its the protocol for supposed traitors. I don't think LBY will kill or even agree to killing any member of NN's family. I seem to recall from the teasers around epi 42+above that they will find the culprit which is Lou Ben, NN's formerly-intended brother-in-law.

Yes, that's a nice thing about this drama. Conflicts are not dragged just to make the drama long.

True. I love his brother's expression when he gets annoyed with A Fei.....LOL. BTW, what is the significance of the mandarin duck wings?

"Oh, those are mandarin duck wings? I thought they were chicken wings." That cracked me up! "It's a rabbit? I thought it was a rat." I almost fell off my chair. The episode was full of angst but they still managed to insert humor. Then the jealous father complained that his daughter couldn't even make a pair of socks for him and NN's mother asked if he is thick skinned like LBY to wear those chicken wings! LOL ....... love this episode!

She has an inferiority complex as huge and deep as the ocean. Like NN said, it was her own choice. She trapped herself in her insecurities. If she just trusted the crown prince and found contentment in their marriage, she wouldn't have ended as she is now. Another villainess getting her rightful due. Now another conflict arise. Who the heck framed the entire Cheng family? Whoever that person/s is/are, they should be drawn, quartered and beheaded for the agony that they caused the whole family.

Episode 39-40 sure put me in an emotional wringer. We're getting to the revenge arc and TBH I'm not looking forward to it. Oh why, oh why could ZiSheng couldn't just let go of his grudges as Consort Yue advised? When is karma going to get the crown princess? Her viciousness is so much worst than the princesses put together. She's scheming and insecure not to mention delusional. She trapped herself in her own misery. Poor crown prince. But the better part is ZS and NN's moment when LX held her at knife point. The cold general's heart is melting and his look of concern for NN is so heart fluttering! YS is dying of envy. LOL......

I'm not that type of fan either but I enjoy hearing some news about the actors/actresses I like. Not posting pictures of them on walls but just in my FB cover photo.....ROFL!!!!

Dang! You know a lot about them! I'm Lusi's fan since 'Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling' and I've sort of watched all her dramas. However, only LLTG amazed and affected me so much that I've started fangirling. Now, I'm also a Leo fan! Wish they'd have another chance to work together like real soon. They have awesome chemistry!!!

Yes, I agree this is better than watching GOT which never tugged at my heartstrings and tickled my funny bones the way LLTG does.

I'm dreading that part that we all know will come. I hope they will not stretch it out otherwise, my heart!!!
