Yang Yang was my first ML i watched and my door to the C Drama realm. But i would say im quite the opposite of you. I dont watch drama with romance so much, so for me this is a good drama and i have high expectations.😅😁

Well he(Han Li) killed her husband to be lol...if she would tell this to anyone, he would be practically finished. Someone would take revenge and his idea of evading trouble would be in danger. So far ep 17, issue is her having a feelings for him. How it ends...well I don't think there were deeper feelings, more or less regret how things went for her and sense of guilt. This doesn't mean he had deeper feelings for her

Surely, people have different tastes. That's why none of the ratings here have any credibility. Apparently.

Wanted to add that this doesn't seem as 1 season drama...surely the martial world is vast and story is just at the right pace...
Also didn't see novel or manhua or donghua for any reference so cannot put my finger on it, but for someone who enjoy less of a melodrama and romance, this one is pretty cool so far.

So far, top notch. Don't get the rating here, but it is so far much better than 8.1.
But yeah there is pattern how this should be to get 8.7, but it lacks what patterns usually have for such rating. Crying, love, love rival, reincarnation, second life etc...these themes makes people voting ability to always press better rating.
So far this drama is absent of these tags and thus 8.1 and that's why it is way better than "crying" drama. Wuxia with some CGI for now, costumes simple which is good, story compelling, ML one of the best and yet underrated.
So far so good.

Usually when something here is rated badly it is perfect for me, so I Will give it a try.

Both actors are pretty seasoned and well known by now. Dont know If they decided to play in this drama or not. Maybe didnt know how it is going to be.

They camouflaged scenes really badly. Im not against CGI, but If it is done properly, then could be really pleasing to watch. Money will always be an issue.

I was really looking forward to this drama, but it feels like this is a PC Game. In 2 episodes there was maybe 1 or 2 shots of real and actual site, all other scenes are made on stage. I really like both actors, but If I was a director looking for actors for new drama, I would simply overlook them. They are looking and acting so fabriacted and artificial...dont know why, but it is so wrong on many levels. If they at least went to Himalaya and directed and filmed drama there or somewhere with some real Snow and ice.
If I was a actor and I believe I I dont speak only for myself, whenever someone offered me acting in overly CGI drama ... dance away.

It is a slow burner. Many 40 episodes dramas have much more action in first 10 episodes than this one.

Till episode 12...there is 95 % talk and 5% action. Getting kinda boring. Do viewers really only see talking as something good in drama?
Every other drama with more action and less talk is rated lower than this.

I finished this. Finally. Last ep was stunning. It does remind me of Martial Universe, which had the best fight/ music scenes in any of the series I saw. Especially if you like NZBZ.
That Xu Kai moment was pretty epic. He gotten so powerful, so understandable conclusion to a fight.
Pretty good once certain characters were out of the picture

Reading the comments below...it would be really hard to sit in the same room and watch this drama or anykind with you.

Acting, CGI, who Is seen more and who is not and details, omg...
I'm blessed indeed. I only see if it attracts me or not. If it doesn't Im dropping. So far I'm not dropping, but I am skipping Ji Rong scenes. So annoying.

I love this review. I'm bad when I need to judge who is good actor and who is bad. I don't have the gift for this, but all I wanted to say is to look forward to the fight sequences which are pretty good and heart pumping. 😁

You are reading my mind. Honestly I believe that in some dramas they are exaggerating love elements. What's worse is that there is always a 3rd person involved and usually 4th male element as well. I don't like that much. Ever Night 2 was totally ruined because of this and bad cast. Most of xianxia I dropped so I'm pretty selective what I watch.

Yes that also. To be honest I dropped Back from the brink, not to mention other XianXias this year. But this one keeps me on the edge. 2nd preliminary fights were really good. I love the idea how underestimated ML is, but actually is godlike. And from same reason if someday arrives Ancient sovereign of eternity drama...will be similar story.

Oh yeah. Spot on. No cheesy stuff, no crying, no drama, no annoying ML friends funny, no FL annoying friends . Everything many wants in drama is here absent. Which makes it refreshing, good CGI, good action, good char development. And especially no crying.
