Tang San should be a kid in the beginning and then gradually get time skips and grow up. Issue here is that that whole plot is twisted to a point that this cannot be even called adaptation anymore but " setting and charscters are based on Soul land". Interestingly enough anime Hao tian hammer is better than manga and here used one from msnga.idk about novel becsuse i dont have time to read it.

As im reading now about final episode...it seems it was a big let down.

There should be alot between FL and ML, they are married anyway. Idk im still on 17 ep, but this hasnt gone done well. Im sorry to see such weak and pathetic ML

Well for me i was surprised that every few episodes there was change of clothes...lately anyway i noticed that scenes everywhere looks faked, filming places arent really in nature at all. We cannot say it is because of covid because chinese are chinese afterall. They make drama and let it out after 2 years and more. Ppl say soul land was readymade 2y ago. Who would know. I cant put my finger to this drama because it was simply twisted too much.

Im not so far but just seeing Ye Zhi Qiu as some douchebag working with Bu Le in Star city makes me cry. Can they not mess one character up? I hope when i get to the point that Dugu Bo is somehow good.

They messed up tbh. For plenty of us. I wanted to see that vigour, resilience, determined ML, his wits, wanted to see Dai Mu bai in powerful form, unexpectedl i got brown haired guy who diss all other devils still up in 12 episode. Rong rong is for now ok, but she lacks glam, beauty...Ma Hong Jun his char is totally messed up, Ao is interesting, Master is missed char...all this coupled with messed plot, bad fight scenes..

Legend of Fei was my latest drama in lets say wuxia and fantasy genre. And yes acting was much better, there was some dramatic elements all across the 50 ish episodes and yes costume wise, everything was better. There was crying, laughing, being angry..have emotions, not bland expresionless acting, which meanwhile is coupled with storyline which isnt appealing to those gazillion fans. You see, what fans expect is what japanese did with Kenshin. You can tweak a bit, make something different, but worst is to make background of characters totally different. This is like Superman being human and not from Krypton. Thats the point of manga made into movie or anime. To see same thing in moving picture.

Not only because of that. It is so dull. Short episodes too, cast which is simply bad...ML is simply stupid otherwise god level genius. I cannot comprehend...one thing is to botch story, but to add botched cast over it? Double trouble. I wouldnt be surprisee for diff cast in season 2.

Okay now i can say a few things after watching 11 episodes.

This drama is made for those who dont know anything about Soul Land. Others who knows it, will have hard time digesting it. For me it is sooooooo boring, character are dull, it is dragging more and more ( heck even more than heavenly sword and dragon slaying sabre), plot is totally wrong, cast is totally wrong. There is no glam, because tbh even if there is poor setting scene, at least it should be glam. Furthermore costumes are just bad....in comparison to Legend of Fei this isnt even intruiguing. When you wait for some good cgi at least and effects, you get same fight sequences over and over.

There is really few things which i like. Thats Flander, Oscar is...bah, but at least makes some fun amid expresionless cast. I know everyone has own tastes, but even if there wasnt novel, manga, anime this would be hard to watch. I will still watch further, but i at least expect something more, much more to whole story.

Thank you for input. I have seen manhua and anime respectively that's why im a bit reluctant, because there are other interesting dramas to check this week. But i think i will give it a try nonetheless.

No actually is good to read your view/opinion/explanation. But you know when something makes good impression on you so that you remember it clearly, then that image stays and it is hard to forget it during drama or film. Same goes with books being made into film. And then there is overlay of info that i know/expect and what am i getting. And that's what makes us disappointed. (Not speaking for this particular drama). i didnt even start yet lol. Just finished spirit realm and now that you made such remarks i get why Sword Dynasty looked short cut and simply wierd in last few episodes. There was element of resurection too, maybe thats' why.

Okay. I got it. Im not scared by probable spoilers from all comments. I also dont know much about what's allowed or what's not allowed, but since you said something about it, maybe i can ask u. So why some anime have reincarnation and even tv shows..latest example is Spirit realm, where one cast was revived 2 times as adult and 1x as kid.

So this is kinda, harry Potter thing? When all the brave readers curse the movies, because not being nowhere near point on? Now im really kinda scared already to start this. In know there are some differences between each version (manhua, novel, anime)...TBH i wasnt so sure Sean Xiao playing main role..it seems i will find many more problems further on. Also starting from 8,4 here on MDL isnt that good. It will drop below 8,0 for sure. This is ok score, but for something like this will not be enough.

Im at 2nd season 12 episode and 6 to go i think. When i saw this, i knew that this will not go the way i want it. Lately i have been watching xianxia and wuxia with all the bad endings and reading this plot, makes me WTF???!! Now i know why new cast. Season 3 plot seems terrible. Furthermore this sounds as Ever Night s2, where we got crybaby for whole season, showing that changing cast is a bad idea. Far from good. Now they gonna change all three. I mean ok they might be ok too, but once accostumed to 30h of same actor, pls dont change. And Chinese are pros at it. Thank god for now Joy of Life season 2 still have same main cast, but whereas one can see season 2 after 3y, just accept it. Same series died with season 1. In this case 2nd seson will be ending. For most of us. And for most of those, who read that plot in description. Im dying. Really. Waiting for something else. Chinese are pros at twisting story in worst possible way.
