Title The Blue Whisper: Part 1 Spoiler
I read the novel. Novel is indeed very dark, tortured and sad. I guess they have to adapt it for drama or else…
The writer lets us hear his toughts. So if he were to be in love with her in any ways then he would have mentioned it. It's not an open interpretation. It's not BL. I get it that you enjoyed the drama and you're okay with him having romantic feelings for her, but I'm just not okay with because I know full well that it's no more than brotherly love. As long as they don't make him force himself on her then I will continue watching. Once it cross that line then it's a drop for me. Everyone has morals and what they can take and cannot take.

They were raised as brother and sister. She was considered and known to everyone as the adopted daughter. They were close when young but yes, after that snake pit, things changed. In the novel, there was no romantic feelings, yes he admired her ability, hated her too but there were never any romantic feelings.

Unfortunately, I watched too many dramas that I'm no longer surprised. Nothing is good or new because it's the same old stuffs. The last good dramas in the past few years for me is only "Love and Redemption" and "Word of Honor."

I thought Ep 9 is when he split this tail? What I don't get is how he starts walking near the start too.
Exactly!

No, not all the time. His tail eventually got split and that's when he had legs. He doesn't talk to anyone at the beginning beside Ji Yunhe anyways. The point is that he's a merman. He's not supposed to be walking around. But yes, I know that the drama changed that but because of the change, it made his sacrifice less meaningful.

Probably like you said, just to "spice" up the drama, but honestly, that did not work for me.

Also, Ji Yunhe carried him on her back when he was a fish. He was so big so his tail just dragged on the floor. She also carried him on her back too with legs.

The novel is also much more gory. He was locked and hung inside a cage with bar. He was torture so much that his body was full of blood and scars. It was not nice and pretty like the drama. It took Ji Yunhe the whole day to put medicine on his body.

We get to read his point of views and their is no romantic feelings. He just voiced how jealous he is of her. Like a big brother, he protected her when needed but it's not romantic.

He helped her because he made a promise to set her free if she helps him kill their father. Also when he saw her died like that, he realized that she should be free and happy like when they were kids. If he truly had romantic feelings for her then he would have expressed it. Instead, he only expressed his jealousy towards her. Also, he would have kept her by his side after letting her reborn, but he didn't. He guided her and taught her then let her go out into the world. This is siblings love. They fight each others but when it comes to important matters, they are there for each others. Honestly, I can't understand how that would be considered romantic feelings. Even through those 6 years when she was captured, he focused on making pilling while the only one that cared about getting Ji Yunhe out was Chang Yi. So yes, I don't see any romantic love between them in the novel.

I think the novel was pretty balanced out. It's drak but there were sadness along with sweetness and comedy too. So I'm hoping to see the same from the drama.

It's really not needed at all. Her brother having romantic feelings towards her is unnecessary. There are other characters that they could have used to make Chang Yi's jealous. By doing this, they just completely destroyed the good brother image. I would never have romantic feelings for my siblings so to me, this is so wrong on so many levels. I think this is the reason why there haven't been much good dramas out. It's because they're using the same kind of typically drama themes. Relationship can still be great and strong without using a side chick or side guy to bring out the jealousy in FL or ML. This is also why I enjoy the author's novels. Just sad that in the live action versions, they always add in unnecessary side chick or side guy to"spice" things up. Really, it's not needed.

I am just comparing the drama to what I read. Whatever the feedbacks are, they have nothing to do with my comparison. I'm in by no mean hating on the drama. I'm just stating my disappointment. I also stated the good parts too.

That is also the other thing that I do not like. Why can't HaoQing just like Ji Yunhe like a sister like he did in the novel? He was such a good brother who is just jealous of her for always being better. To turn it romantic is really a turn off for me. Even though she is his adopted sister, she is still his sister. It shouldn't be romantic.

I'm not hating on this drama. I'm just disappointed. I'm still watching it and appreciate the good production quality.

He's not even supposed to be walking around according to the novel. Because I read the novel and understand the meaning of splitting his tail, seeing him having legs before the splitting part just defeat the purpose for me. But yeah, like I said, it probably cost them too much to keep the tail.

Everyone is different and have their own opinions. For me, I am disappointed but I'm still watching it. If I didn't read the novel first, I would have liked it more. And yes, I understand that a drama is a drama and a novel is a novel but when a drama is adapted from a novel, it's hard not to compare them.

Yes, it was sad because Snow March didn't want to let go...but I'm glad that she did because she was trying to replace him with an object instead of grieving .

I read the book and loved it and i’m loving the adaptation too. The drama is amazing. My fingers are crossed…
In the extra chapter in the novel, he came back. When Qing Ji was investigating the Ten formation in Demon Valley, she saw his blood from the sacrifice and brought back his consciousness which then entered a demon wolf body. So if the drama follows the story, he and Snow March (Xue Sanyue) will have a happy ending. From a cat to a wolf. 🤣😂

I didn't say his tail was split in ep2. I said he already have legs in episodes 2 so the impact and meaning of actually splitting his tail later is not as powerful.
