i watched this film yesterday. i dont know how to describe it ... it's like a documentary of sorts? it's basically showing saito takumi's vlogs while he raises his capsule monsters, as well as his zoom calls with director and the other actors. it's meant to be realistic (and match the covid-19 lockdown scenario) so you're really just looking at them having zoom conversations with each other .... like actually. i think most people would have gotten bored from it. unless you enjoy listening to their conversations which are mostly ad-libbed i think? the whole time i felt like i was just admiring how goodlooking saito-san is ngl hahaha i guess the director really wanted to release a movie during lockdown?? i dont know how the movie even lasted 1.5h .... in other words my advice is please dont waste your time TT

about your third point, yup me too. actually felt a little uncomfortable throughout the later episodes when the time period was 1910++ (when it was approaching ww1 and subsequently the other wars ... it was becoming a bit too political especially with some lines about the tenno that i really disagreed with). usami's explanation about the tenno cult thing did give me some idea of the typical japanese civilian's pov during those times, but still it didnt quite sit well with me regardless. still a great show though!
i'm a huge fan of the original manga and anime but this wasn't as bad as expected. it is way better as compared to many other live action movies imo. i think the alternate future world was executed well and i felt that it was ok having ciel's descendant as a female. in fact i think i like shiori's character much more than sebastian's in this movie.
