I saw Marcus mentioned about the show. I couldn't imagine him doing this kind of show as I usually see him in comedic roles (JOL, My Heroic Husband).
Might check this out for my mom after my iQiyi member expires. Currently I ask my mom to watch Knockout. Have finished SToTD 2 which was the reason I got iQiyi membership again :)
Yeah, some of Western shows like Game of Thrones or Spartacus are so violent that I was surprised that it was aired but I guess those are cable shows and people expect the violence, sex, and nudity in those channels.
The coroner method in the last episode. See below for spoiler
Is the same method used in Strange Tales of the Tang Dynasty season 2 in the last case. Using steamed glutinous rice to cover mouth, nose, ears. I just wish they explained the mechanics more clearly. Same as their method to hypnotize using a glass of water and a candle. I wish to know more about that π
How did the teacher kill himself could reveal the evilness of the writer? Was it because the way he killed himself…
Yes, I guess you're right. I think it was someone else, might be the lawyer (ML's father) who talked to him and the author mentioned about sacrificed his life or the other way around. Need to rewatch that part to be clear. The monk later said his sacrifice is like Boddhisatva's sacrifice.
π I think you paid attention more than me. I was distracted while watching. It seems to be a common theme in Republican dramas about gun vs knife. "Heroes" came into mind.
How did the teacher kill himself could reveal the evilness of the writer? Was it because the way he killed himself was just like the writer's novel?
So the writer's intention was to rape to mute girl but he made up the scenario about the "second" victim wanted to have a child and raped the mute girl to get a child. Then he killed those people who were in cahoots with him and framed it to like the teacher did it. Am I getting it right?
I guess he also included HL's intention to join the police force in his calculation.
That was unexpected but I'm not surprised. Poor Huole indeed.
That reminds me of "My Roommate is a Detective" where one person was responsible for all the murders indirectly.
For costume dramas:
-Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty Season 1 and 2
-Ancient Detective
There were slight romance in them but not the main focus
I see :)
He was in the "Dashing Youth" as well but I haven't watched it.

I see. I guess they didn't put into detailed explanation about the connection.
