Lol after people pointing things out especially he copying scene from 2014 Takahashi Mike's movie "As Gods Will" with the similarities btw The "Daruma" and "red light/green light" scenes, he went like "ok I got inspired by Liar game and battle royal but I got the idea of my movie back in 2008 I did not copy Takashi Mike". Something tells he picked 2008 cause the manga of "As Gods will" got release in 2011. Nowhere he mentioned KaiJi. But some fans had to make YT videos and show how KaiJi's and SG's storylines are similar.
I feel they should have sped up the relationship two episodes ago or even today. Romantically the change of heart of the guarded FL towards ML might look abrupt in the next episodes since we got only 12 episodes left and each episode is 10 minutes.
Kaiji is a 90's work. That director, I guess, needed to revive his career and leave the bankrupcydom, so I strongly believe he took different pieces of different japanese works he followed and made his show.
"KaiJi" (check the plot) and "As Gods Will" (The daruma scene). Lol I strongly believe squid game director is a glorified plagiariser and he lied when he said he had his script in 2008 (liar). And guess what it was stated man is a manga fan...
Ryan Cheng career evolution has been spectacular so far. From an unwatchable below 0 short drama where he was an absolute joke (Queen of Attack) to a decently made short drama where he played an appealing character (My familiar stranger) to a show stealing character in a SS+ big drama where he gets to play with traffic actors (My journey to you) guy is becoming the Wei Da Xun of this year late summer. I can only say this career growth is singular. Among his peers that debuted in the cheap short dramas circuit, he is the one that has shown the brightest evolution so far. I mean BiliBili homepage is filled with videos of Shang Jue and ShangGuan. Well done. Hopefully his agency will keep on the good work. Congratz to him.
