On My Girlfriend Is the Man! Jul 31, 2025
My little wishful thinking is that the show ends with Yoo Junghoo playing the grown up son of Jieun and Yoonjae, who looks exactly like Jihun and they even name him Jihun. Thats how the age old family curse, which has been passed down through the maternal line, finally gets broken, since it mostly affects daughters.

As for Jihye, she is part of the family too, but since she never turned into a man, im guessing the curse didnt pass down to her so her descendants are probably safe lol.

ok if she snatch him from her then what will he able to love her like he loved his girlfriend that's ridiculous…
She reminds me of those obnoxious vamps from soap operas who go out of their way to steal the ML from the FL.

I just love this show, its the perfect dose of fluff and warmth that instantly melts away stress. Ji Hun is such cutie and i ship him with everyone from Yoon Jae to Min Hyuk to even Yuri. He is so adorably clueless about how flustered Yuri gets around him and that just makes their scenes even funnier.

The only character i genuinely cant stand right now is the SFL, Kang Min Ju. She is incredibly annoying, boldly declaring herself as Yoon Jae’s girlfriend in front of his parents then saying she’s going to snatch him away from Ji Eun?? Thats just plain ridiculous.

But aside from her, im completely in love with this show. Its such a wholesome, feel good escape and i cant get enough of it.

I really don’t understand how people are saying this K-drama is one of the best currently airing. Honestly,…
Saying things like “I really don’t understand how people are saying this K-drama is one of the best currently airing” comes across as belittling other people's opinions about dramas or even them as individuals. You need to understand that different people enjoy different types of dramas. Its not necessary for everyone to like what you like or for you to like what they enjoy. It's okay if you dont like it but whats with the condescending tone?? It honestly feels like a superiority complex.

From what i have seen, most of the people praising this drama arent biased or blindly hyping it because of the leads. In fact, most of them are regular kdrama viewers. For you, it might not be better than Crushology but for them, it is or even the best currently airing. Its as simple as that.

Now coming to your second point:
“To be honest, it just feels like a Netflix production. There’s absolutely no Hallyu vibe here that reminds us of the classic K-dramas—those sweet and gentle ones where the male and female leads are shy and only kiss with cute, innocent pecks. But here? Like I said, it feels like a Netflix-style K-drama. We’re only three episodes in and they’ve already kissed multiple times, full-on. I don’t get how people enjoy this kind of thing in Asian dramas. Most of us started watching K-dramas because we loved seeing the couples kiss only after 10 episodes, with all the shyness and tension—unlike American shows.”

Just because there are kisses early on doesnt mean it suddenly becomes a Netflix style production. If anything, this drama feels more like the typical 2016-2018 web dramas, simple, fast paced, light romance. And yes, people enjoyed those web dramas back then and are enjoying this one now too. Also, keep in mind, the main couple in this drama is already in a relationship from the start. The shows you are referring to belong to completely different genres and narrative styles, where romance develops slowly and only kicks in around episodes 8-10. Thats why the kiss scenes are delayed. But here, you expect the same slow burn progression even though the couple is already together?? That makes no sense.

And finally, you said:
“Anyway, that’s just how I feel. I’m from the older generation of K-drama fans, and I’ll always prefer that kind of romantic pacing.”

You being from the older generation of kdrama fans doesnt give you or anyone the right to judge or look down on others for what they enjoy. If you dont like the drama, thats fine. Share your opinion about the show itself, not about the people watching it. This constant tone of superiority is the real issue here.

With E3 & 4, this drama thrilled like no other thriller. Definitely the thriller of the year. Action, thrill, suspense and cruelty were all notched even higher in these episodes. Both eps were exciting af. The world building is done so damn well.

Review Trigger
Great review but I’ve noticed kdrama fans rate things differently than every other person haha an 8.5 is an…
Here i rate kdramas based on MDL standards. On this platform, anything below an 8, especially for kdramas, is garbage (most of the time). So my ratings reflect that mindset. An 8.5 means it was a mixed experience, while a 9 would indicate something truly impressive.
If i were using IMDB’s scale, i would have rated it around 6.5 to 7.

As the saying goes, When in Rome, do as the Romans do, so i adjust my rating style to fit the standards of each platform.

Well, in other countries gangsters use guns, so I understand the logic and concept begins that, and for the bullying,…
They spent far too much time on the gangster subplot, which was filled with unnecessary filler scenes. That time could have been better used to explore other cases. The gangster arc could have easily been wrapped up in a single episode, anything more felt excessive and made the track dull to sit through.

I get the message they were trying to convey about not allowing main bullying victim to become a killer. But in contrast, there was another victim who went on a mass shooting and ended up killing many students, including innocent ones. Honestly, if they had just let him take out the main bully, it would have felt far more satisfying and impactful.

Trigger is a thriller that makes you think about justice and taking the law into your own hands. It has a unique story, strong emotions, and great action scenes. Kim Nam Gil’s action performance is a highlight. Some parts feel slow or unrealistic, especially near the end. But overall, the show leaves a strong impression.

question if both sisters knew that this gender swap happened before on their mothers family side (that’s why…
If you noticed, the elder sister had already said, Even if we cant imagine something like this, lets get a tattoo as proof. Imean, who would actually believe such a bizarre curse, that their mother once turned into a man and that this curse gets passed down through generations?? They got the tattoos as a precaution, just in case the unimaginable happened. But deep down, they never truly believed in it, it just sounded too absurd.
Even if we assume both sisters entertained the idea of one day turning into a man, imagine how shocking it would be: one day, a man suddenly wakes up in your sister’s place, wearing her clothes and acting like her. Of course no one would believe it without proof. Thats exactly why they got the tattoos, to prove their identity if the curse ever became real. So, the elder sister’s reaction was completely understandable.
Forget the elder sister, even Jieun struggled to accept that she had actually turned into a man. Imean, who wouldnt?? The whole thing is as absurd as it sounds.

There is been a lot of debate about whether this show is BL or not but based on whatever i saw in the first two episodes, it really doesnt give off any BL vibes. The two MLs definitely have amazing chemistry, more than the ML has with the FL but it still doesnt feel like a BL. It genuinely feels like Jihoon is Jieun, and even the close, intimate moments between Jihoon and Yunjae dont come across as romantic between two men. Whether its the actor's performance or the writer’s intent, they have done a great job making it believable that this isnt a gay romance, despite the gender swap and romantic plotline.

This drama is such a fun watch. E2 was even better than the first. Its hilarious how every girl is swooning over Jihun, from Jieun’s bestfriend to even Yunjae’s sister lol. The scene where Jieun’s bestie flirted with him, fully knowing he is actually Jieun, was especially funny.

I also find most of the supporting characters surprisingly likable. They dont feel annoying at all, instead, they are actually entertaining. Whether its Jieun’s sister, her bestfriend, her parents, Yunjae’s junior or his sister. I havent skipped a single scene so far, which is rare for shows like this. Yunjae’s junior was been really fun to watch in E2.

Main concept is quite similar to A Good Day to Be a Dog, with the whole generational curse passed down through the maternal bloodline that turns FL into an animal or man. Its a shared theme, but beyond that, everything else is different. This drama has its own unique flavor and charm.

I really enjoyed E1, it was cute, cliched and funny. Although its a low budget drama that gives off the vibe of a korean short web series but it was actually entertaining as a light, timepass watch.

The male version of Jieun (Jihun) was especially fun to watch, he actually had better chemistry with the ML than the female Jieun did. Also Jieun might just be the first girlfriend in a romance drama to get punched by her own boyfriend lol.

LMAO not you still crying in the comments after getting blocked, thats some next level desperation, @DUMMY_sneh. You claim you gave me a taste of my own medicine, but sweetie, all you did was embarrass yourself and get kicked out like spam. The fact that you are STILL talking about me, untagged, trying to bait attention, just proves how obsessed and bitter you are. And that "you’d write worse if given a chance" line?? Girl, coming from a nobody with zero credibility and burner energy, its hilarious. You couldnt even write a coherent insult, let alone a script. Stay mad, stay irrelevant and maybe next time, pick a fight where you dont get dragged and blocked like the trash you type.

Not you writing a whole essay about how unbothered you are 💀. For someone who has better things to do, you sure show up every time your favorite drama gets a scratch. Obviously, those better things include logging in and out of your main and burner accounts just to keep the argument alive while hiding behind a fake face. Must be exhausting running a full time defense campaign for mid content. And trust me, if i wanted smoke, i wouldnt be asking a sock account who treats MDL debates like a personality trait.

Yes i watched it till the end, do you have a problem with that?? I chose to watch it, and even if i wasted my time, its my time, so why do you care?? Isnt this platform meant for discussing dramas?? I did discuss or rather criticize, the drama and all my comments were strictly about the drama itself. This platform gives me the freedom to express my opinion, whether it's positive or negative.

Now lets talk about you. Why are you making it personal by targeting me?? Isnt this space meant for drama discussion, not for throwing personal remarks?? If you dont like my comment, just ignore it or block me. Whats with this unnecessary attitude??

And coming to your point about me criticizing the drama, actors or the crew’s hard work, yes, i did. Even if im not from the same industry, even if i cant act or write stories, i still have the right to criticize or appreciate based on my viewing experience. I work in the corporate world and if a client is dissatisfied with my work, they have every right to criticize me too. Thats how criticism works, you dont need to be an expert in a field to have an opinion on it.

As a viewer who watched 16+ hours of their content, invested timenand even paid for OTT platforms like Prime to watch the series, i absolutely have the right to express my disappointment. And yes, i did so by my own choice. You got a problem with that?? Then get lost. I didnt ask you to read my review, nor are you paying me for it. So kindly, back off.

Good Boy is hands down the worst weekend drama i have watched in 2025. There is no logic, no compelling story, just pure dragfest and torture p0rn at its finest.

Its literally just the ML getting brutally beaten in every single episode, only to rise again, fight the villain and get beaten to a pulp all over again. If even 1% of this show had logic, he would have died back in E8. But clearly, the only intent was to numb the viewers by showing the hero suffer endlessly, until we stop feeling anything for him.

The villain?? A joke. Supposed to be all powerful but with zero backstory or explanation for his rise. And lets be honest, Oh Jung Se was horribly miscast. He lacked the presence, menace or performance to make the character intimidating. On paper, he might sound scary but in execution, it was flat and forgettable.

The romance?? Absolutely lifeless. Kim Sohyun had zero chemistry with either ML, Park Bogum or Lee Sangyi. Ironically, Bogum and Sangyi had more believable chemistry with each other than with her.

Even the supporting team was a mess. Their attempts at comedy fell flat every time, making scenes feel even more awkward.

Final verdict: a torturous, logic defying mess.

3/10 and thats me being generous.

The good thing about IMDB is that they have a special algorithm that prevents review bombing as much as possible,…
Moreover IMDb isnt really a fan based platform, its not centered around fan-to-fan discussions, so the ratings tend to be more genuine. People usually don’t bother downvoting a drama unless there is a significant controversy, like the cultural misrepresentation of the Saudi prince in King the Land or the Palestine-Israel issue briefly shown in the final episode when the phone rings.

Not only chinese ones, even korean and japanese BLs have also seen significant drop, love for love sake dropped…
Tbh homophobic people really dont care about BLs. You will hardly see any comments from them unless a show is a BL turned into bromance, only then do they make a few remarks.

This manipulation is mostly done by one section of BL fans targeting another, usually out of insecurity or competition.
IFYLIA is the only exception among Thai BLs, whereas most other Thai BLs remain stable. But thats not the case for BLs from other countries and this isnt a recent issue, they have been doing this for years.
