This a part in the trailer when the leads talk about their character. LY held onto his mom who was lying on her bed while crying. Also the latest trailer shows his household having mourning decorations and you can see him reminiscing the people in his household. His mom is one. I feel like she will take poison or something to save him. Something big going to happen to him that’s why he’ll have to go into hiding and find out the truth. My guess is the emperor trying to take him down.
I think people forget that QY since beginning to now have a more radical perspective about woman rights and freedom. She always wanted to be free but when her adopted mom died and her family fell into chaos. She put away her dream to be independent and focus on helping her family. She sacrifice her identity and even went to a brothel. In her mind she wanted to save her family. In the process she got more comfortable with LY and integrated in his life. Can she have stayed behind and continue to be his wife? Yes, but is that the QY that was introduced to us? No. So her leaving to find herself after her family situation was settle is not out of her character norm. Does she loves LY, yes she does but I feel like her dream have always been a big thing for her and like someone had said here LY never communicate his feelings for her or stop her from going. He can’t because of his responsibility. My heart breaks for LY because in the next few episodes he’s going to lose his mom and loyal servant. While QY is not by his side but I have hopes that she will come to him. He’s in her heart. And they will be together being wanderers. His servant have told him at the end of episode 28 that he was just like her in the past. Wanting to go on a journey and see the world.
Not going to lie I definitely like historical romance drama more. Maybe it’s the setting but I love ancient costumes and outfit and the way it’s film. Makes my heart flutter even more.
Lol I know I feel like I’m getting whiplash. I’m pretty sure it’ll be a happy ending for our couple but next weeks going to be an emotional rollercoaster.

I agree with your point so much I feel like the writer wrote her character the way she did it’s because she needed to show a contrast between the FL and other females in that era. QM fits the mentality of women in that era while our FL is different. Our FL was abandoned by her own mom and was a concubine daughter while QM have always been the legitimate daughter of the main wife. Although her bio mom loves the FL more QM never had to go through abandonment like the FL. So compare to our FL she’s weak and think about her well being hence why she drugged SML. Which is why I feel like she will be the caused in some road blocks or challenges for our couple in the future. Whether she sells out her sister or make a mistake and from there she probably have a redemption portion.
From a video my friend sent me through weibo seems like Qiu Min will go to the dark side. Or she’s going to be persuaded to do something which ends up hurting our lead couple.
