Has anyone seen the 1999's movie Cruel Intentions (Hollywood film starring S. M. Gellar, S. Logan and P. Gallagher)?…
I know that movie. Watched and liked it. S.M. Gellar is one of my top favorites. But also, have you watched Dangerous Liaisons? It is a period movie from 1988 starring Glenn Close, John Malkovich, Michelle Pfeiffer and Uma Thurman. That one is closer to the original French novel it was adapted from. I recommend if you like costume movies give it a try. The story is bad every time because the novel does too. But the acting is amazing.

believe he's an eunuch and the chief of eunuch. Hence his position title Chief Wu.But I don't know if he's truly…
Guessed as much. It would not be the first time an eunuch male lead. Wang He Di has a drama where he is a ML eunuch. But it is still an unusual concept. This theme is less explored I guess. There were palace women who had relations with eunuchs. And they even made it an issue in the first few episodes. Lets watch and find out I guess?

I came back to this because I was reminiscing my OST archive. This drama wasn't very bad but wasn't very memorable/good…
OST was good as mentioned above. Made it more memorable.
Villains were AWESOME. Simply they chewed the scenes. They were dedicated to their craft. Sadam and King Ki San were amazing in their delivery. I still remember their acting more out of all others.
Child actresses, especially Rang Yi (spoiler: prince's mother's young self) was really talented and adorable.
CGI was fine for its time. I don't remember cringing at least. But I didn't pay much attention either. I was mesmerized by villains' acting.
Among 4 leads ML and 2nd FL's acting was good. FL and 2nd ML boring and almost stiff, I almost hated them.
From side characters the blacksmith and innkeeper's romance was memorable for me. (Maybe they appeal to my age group more,Idk?)
Story had a pacing problem. After 1st act (prince's childhood) was over it was repetitive and almost not moving forward at times. It almost felt like tthere was too much filler to lengthen the story. FL kept getting kidnapped or jumping into danger and needing to be saved. She was useless throughout.
Romance between leads felt forced. They lacked chemistry. Ending felt a pitiful attempt of HE. I almost felt the need of them getting seperated for the story's sake. It would have felt more tragic maybe, but necessary. If any drama needed and open ending, this sure was it. I understand scriptwriters who wrote open endings more now.
Overall pros outweighed the cons. And the drama was memorable enough to warrant a review.
If you like fantasy dramas with ghosts, magic and monsters, this one might take your interest.
But I wouldn't put it on the top of my list. Watch it only if you have time OR if you want to see Kim Sung Oh's Sadam. Seriously the guy was GOOD!

Live Action Viewing Rule No-1: NEVER EVER start with reading the source material. Especially if it is a very long and detailed work. It is NOT possible to adapt it completely into a movie. Don't keep your hopes up if you are a fan of a book/manga etc. Even best live action adaptations fail to meet the expectations of the source fans.
Rule No-2: Only ways to enjoy a live action is 1. Going completely blind (source virgins). 2. Fan of the cast/director etc. 3. Simply enjoying movies and not caring about books/mangas. 4. Enjoying movies first and let it be deciding factor if you are going to enjoy the source material.

If you want to add anything feel free in the comments.

Surrogate mother was done. Tonhon Chonlatee. You can watch that. It is a lighthearted, tiny bit angsty comedy…
It doesnt phase me anymore. I seen it all, lol. And I liked it for the side characters done right. They were interesting, engaging and mostly likeable. Chonlatee's mom was especially awesome.

Another Thai story about how tragic it is to be gay. So original. So authentic. Such BS.When are Thai BL writers…
Surrogate mother was done. Tonhon Chonlatee. You can watch that. It is a lighthearted, tiny bit angsty comedy series. I still remember after all these years. So, memorable too.

I don't usually watch mafia related things but I am glad I decided to watch this. So many good actors. I can listen to Bible speak English all day long. He speaks perfect and sounds so natural. No wonder he is a pro translator. Also Jeff Satur stole my heart. Amazing acting and his music is wonderful. I will keep following him.

The heavy competition among the actors forced him to take short dramas. Nowadays, short dramas have improved significantly…
Now that is a list I wanted to see. You seem like a connoiseur of short dramas. Did you watch and like all of these? I only watched A Familiar Stranger and was looking for good ones like that. And I completely agree with your comment about the industry. It has become so hard on the actors these days.

I watch Kdrama for almost 20 years, but never seen a single character who wants to be in prison, let alone two!…
It reminded me of Zhao Lusi's drama where she goes in and out of the dungeon to the point of being familiar with the guards and playing cards and eating snacks there whenever the emperor gets angry. I think it was 'Oh My Emperor'. My favorite Xiao Zhan was 2nd ml.

Several netizens pretended to be fans and tried to create fanwars between Meng Ziyi and Li Yunrui. After the rumor…
Unfortunately this happens a lot. And the real source isn't the actual fans of the rival actors but the agencies who promote these activities to gain the opportunities and eventual profit from the high production dramas/movies/ads and so on. Gullible fans are being used by these vultures and sway the public opinion. When there is no control over information everything gets blurred and truth is buried. Even when everything comes to light it might come at a heavy cost or too late to salvage anything. I have seen it happen too many times. I am glad the actors are fighting for their rights. My best wishes.

Beginning of ep 20 super close ups. Xu Kai’s micro-expressions are seriously impressive. The closer the camera…
I have seen him in comedy and I know his acting is very good. He can pull off any character. No surprise there. Not only a pretty face. I will certainly keep watching too!
