This story had direction
The plot is nothing new. Young girl. Older boss. Business world. Small town. Poor. Lower tier university.
But oh my gosh. I watched it over 4 days and read the novel before. Its not the same.
The story itself is sound. It knew where it was going. The directing was smooth.
What I like about a romance in a business drama is that everything should be balanced. This was balanced just right.
I think a huge part is due to the casting. The male lead was impeccably dressed in haute couture clothing- his own. It really made an impressive screen presence really believable. I can now tell where the cheap clothing and cuts were in other dramas. The female lead grew on me and she had solid business conversation.
The ensemble cast were great. The work and personal friends were heartwarming. There were no evil parents present.
The dog was trained. The scenery was great. The filming locales were inspired.
When the male lead was angsty he was really tortured and suffering. So so good when done right.
Its good enough for a few rewatch. Its absolutely fantastic to have a romance drama that made sense and had the couple actually spend time together.
However I have to say though I have never swooned so hard for a dreamy male lead who is the man and looks like a man for absolute yonks
