I’m struggling to keep my interest in this drama. I’m on ep. 22 and already put in on hold twice because it’s so slow. I hate to drop a drama so please tell me it picks up pace and gets more interesting. I’m also wanting to see more of why this is a good power couple so do they get together more often?
I have watched this before and I enjoyed the drama overall however the grandma I’m guessing was meant to be cute is actually a childish, selfish and nasty woman imo.
I don’t know why people complain about this show being boring, I loved every minute of it. Not once did I feel the need to skip anything. Some people must just have short attention spans. I’m not sure the rom com tag is wholly appropriate though because the comedy is very light and it’s more about a romance, well 2 actually, being effected by palace plots and politics. I’m likely to rewatch this show again in the future.
On episode 2 and I’m conflicted between the Eastern Dramas fan in me thinking “How cute this budding love…
He’s kind of creeping me out with the looming over her and putting his hand on top of hers on the mouse while she’s working . And he pulled his secretary onto his lap in the car!
On episode 2 and I’m conflicted between the Eastern Dramas fan in me thinking “How cute this budding love story is” and my western brain thinking that the ML is a workplace sexual harassment suit waiting to happen.. I’m going to stick with it because I very rarely drop dramas without giving them at least 5 episodes to settle in.
I’m only on episode 10 but I’m getting annoyed with the FL friends always putting her down with “why would such a great man like someone like you, it must be your imagination” and “A rich man like that might play with an ordinary person like you but he wouldn’t have a serious relationship with you “. With friends like that who needs enemies? The FL is so far written as way too naïve and the ML is too stiff so I’m looking forward to some of the character development later on that I saw other commenters mention. Also could someone please sack the stylist that does her eyebrows, they are so distracting. Apart from those minor annoyances it’s a nice enough light bit of fluff to watch between serious or heavy dramas.
Not just the little girl voice but she acts like a little girl most of the time too but still i had no problem…
Thanks. I don’t actually mind her character it’s just the thought that a man would see this child like woman and feel attracted romantically that was worrying me. The others that replied said she develops and matures so that will feel better.
That's her natural voice. Stop thinking anything cute is creepy.
I find the idea of the baby voice, (and childish behaviour) creepy in an adult relationship context. I’m sure I would find it cute otherwise. Since others have said she starts acting more mature later on I will continue to watch.
Please tell me that the FL stops doing the little girl voice before any romance starts. It will feel creepy otherwise. A grown woman in a relationship shouldn’t sound like a 5 year old. I stuck with it so far (ep 6) for Dylan’s hotness :D
I get your reference and I see many have the same feeling about the 2nd part but its actually same as the novel.…
It wasn’t the despondency of the character that I had a problem with. It’s the actress’s inability to be convincing. I just didn’t get the feels from her. She was good at the spunky demon fighter side but lacked the skills to portray the darker emotions. In this drama at least. Hence my only feeling “a little bit sad and bored” from her. I really wanted to submerge myself and do understand what the fl was supposed to be feeling.
Imo the fl acting in part 2 is awful. She spent almost the entire season moping about with her head tilted to the side and her eyes partly closed. Sorry but that’s just so unconvincing. She’s supposed to be seriously ill, resolved to keep the ml from harm and feeling trapped. She looked more like ‘a little bit sad and bored’. I was bored by her every time she had screen time. She’s usually not too bad and I liked her in part 1 but she just didn’t get the feels right this time.
