I don’t understand why some of the reviews are so negative. I found it thoroughly entertaining from start to finish and wasn’t at any point bored. It’s a historical FANTASY romance so you sometimes have to leave your scepticism at the door and just go with it. Giving this show a 4.5 is unreasonable imo as I would only give such a low score to a badly written, directed AND acted drama, this wasn’t any of those. The last couple of added scenes did make it feel like they left some things deliberately open for a possible second season but otherwise it’s a 8.5-9 for me.
Ugh! I was enjoying this but it has the noble idiocy trope not once but twice. Whyyyyyy? It’s frustrating and spoils an otherwise lovely romcom. There must be better ways of creating moments of tension. I will still give it a 7 but I was going to give an 8 until the noble idiocy.
I have only seen 4 episodes so far but I am blown away by this drama and Ji Sung’s acting already. All of the cast are doing a great job but Ji Sung is going next level.
This was a fun and unusual story, I liked it mostly for the first 17 episodes because the other commenters here are not kidding about the ending being confusing. Even with that crazy ending though I’m still glad I watched it, it was cute.

You probably already know but it didn’t take too long for them to get back together thankfully. It just irritates me when they do that. That and the sudden amnesia plot lines. :/
It’s a cute show and since it has 18 short episodes it gave me something fun and light to dip into in between heavier dramas. But, I did cringe big time in episode 1 when Mugi (FL) said that “even with a good education a woman still needs a man to marry to take care of her”. Ugh! For 2019 that just gave me the shivers. I guess women’s rights still have some catching up to do in Japan.
No skinship? Which means no kissing nor hugging? Just them knowing their affection towards each other? Is that…
Ah thanks, my memory these days is bad. Watching multiple dramas weekly as the shows air I sometimes forget which show had what kind of skinship, I just remembered there were no kisses.

No kiss scene that I remember and their sleeping together was implied by the mothers knowing smile when she sees both of their shoes outside of his room at night. The tenderness was from their words and their glances. I can’t actually remember if they hugged but I still felt the warmth.
how are you complaining about the superstitions when that's literally the point of the drama...
The synopsis says it is about differing outlooks on life and belief systems, and overcoming those differences. It does not say that she is weak and self pitying for most of the drama. One can believe in mysticism and still be a strong person. It was her weakness and stupidity I was complaining about. Luckily she did in the end grow up.

Poor Daeyop though 😭. Even though his obsession caused so much trouble killing him after he was finally at peace with the situation and became helpful seemed too cruel.
I enjoyed this a lot. I found it to be a nice mix of comedy elements in the earlier episodes, mature romance and political intrigue. I know some people were annoyed because there wasn’t any skinship but this was a mature romance based on mutual respect and understanding not a teenaged crush. I think what we got was fitting. I just wish that we had gotten to see Lee Yi Cheom finally get what he deserved.
Can someone update me if theres any breakups or fights after ep 10? Im deciding whether I should continue cause…
End of episode 14 fl does the noble idiot thing and leaves the ml ‘for his own good’ because the sfl tells her that she has no power to help him in his business and is hurting him. It annoys me to death that the fl never actually talks to the ml to see how he feels before leaving him. I had been enjoying the show until that happened but it’s my most hated trope so it spoiled the flow a little for me now. I’m still only on episode 15 though so I can’t say yet how ml finds her again.
Argh! Please tell me they are not doing the noble idiot trope where the fl leaves the ml ‘for his own good’ because someone tells her to, without even talking things through. I hate that trope the most. Edit: Thankfully they didn’t go that way so I don’t have to throw things at the screen.
I really enjoyed this. Fantasy is one of my favourite genres and this was done well. Great acting and production. I’m torn between wanting a season 2 because I enjoyed the show and not wanting one because I don’t want In Beom to remain a medium for too long due to the purity thing. He’s not a priest and he’s a good looking guy right! Let In Beom have an adult relationship, with Ji Ah would be nice, and he can work with Daebak realty while they get a new younger medium.
The last couple of added scenes did make it feel like they left some things deliberately open for a possible second season but otherwise it’s a 8.5-9 for me.
