why Mudan didn't realize that JCY was inlove with her? I really think it's kind of like a psychological thing. Her experience in her own marriage (although she didn't love LC anyways) and then Sheng Yi's own marriage experience has kind of altered the way she perceives love now and I feel she is maybe scared or better still maybe the idea of love isn't something she holds important anymore bcs of what she has been through and I think JCY also realizes that and that's why he doesn't force himself on her but wants her to come to him instead. And to me that is the best choice.
You know it kind of parallels with Shengyi and her horrible marriage. Shengyi didn't leave that horrible marriage completely by her own will but with Mudan's persuasion and that is why she was able to go back to such a toxic relationship
Just my own thoughts and anyone is free to add their own thoughts
No dog was eaten or even implied, lol. If you watched it on Viki’s the translation are slightly off. Remember…
I do believe that even if she forgives him she won't forget it. That kind of thing can not be forgotten anyways Do you really believe he will become a 'good' official cause I highly doubt it. He looks like he is out for vengeance and blood after everything with his marriage, broken leg and mudan getting remarried. Also in ancient china having a disability like his is one of the worst things to happen to a person. All in all I definitely see him going the villain route but maybe he will change and become better later on
Has anyone read the novel and if yes do you recommend it?
I have read the novel and the drama is different from it in many aspects. There were characters in the novel that weren't in the drama and vice versa but if you want a good read whille you wait for S2 you can check it out

This is a good analysis although I was talking about then eating it literally. Between eating your child's flesh and blood or eating a dog, both are disgusting
why no one discussing the ending like that?, in eps 32 the last 10 minutes don't even seem like the last eps,…
There is a season titled In the Name of Blossom and it was filmed together with S1 but couldn't air because of chinese regulations. It should come out this year though

Besides I also miss when she wasn't as thin as this aka LYF period, but the amount of fat shaming and body shaming she faced then was really horrible
