and my recap of all the high and lo lights of episode 10 following in spoiler below
I was debating on whether I should write my views of this episode, cause in all actuality it was a bit anti-climatic for the most part, except of course when it came to the end and now everyone saw who KHJ is dating (get to that later). Anyway here are my thoughts: (again disclaimer these were all written in the order of the scenes as they appeared and they may be updated further throughout my thoughts, lol, yes I write down all my thoughts as I watch the episode)
Starting off, we get to see the kiss that rocked the last episode again (and I don't mean the violated kiss). The kiss that had toes curling, girls oohing and ahhing, the butterflies in the tummy, heart stopping, I want to be kissed like that kiss. (I will be honest, I was waiting for that moment at the end of this scene for her to wake up and it just be a dream)
Now why isn't every time SangEun and GwangNam enter their apartment, they get spooked from MiHo. Seriously, can she look any scarier just sitting there staring anyone down who walks through that door.
The phone call. Of course we have to have the "you hang up, no you hang up first" scene, what good is a romcom without it. and the cute little giggles of course.
JiHo seems to have done a complete 180 after his little kiss (well maybe not so little) kiss with SangEun. He is smiling, talking to people. It seems so different from the last 9 episodes, especially the first 8 at least.
Ok it is about time someone put this MiHo in her place, I just can't anymore with her. Just stop meeting Eena Group, SangEun wants nothing to do with either (can't you tell, she even changed her name to get away from all that). SangEun will never agree to move into the Eena family home. I hate that MiHo assumes she knows what SangEun needs and really wants.
HaeJin is still so dilusional at this point. He is thinking maybe she didn't really mean "it was mistake" (their kiss). Why the hell did he ask JiEun "How was it for you preparing for your marriage?" Really?! Not seeing any kind of connotations behind that question (sarcasm here). I am glad that SangEun finally comes out and tells HaeJin about how she really feels and why. I was a bit aggravated that he would ask for her to give him the same amount of time she gave JiHo (they have been together for 5 years, unless he is thinking of the new contract, which still doesn't make sense because she signed both of their new contracts at relatively the same time).
I don't like the fact that HaeJin seems to be acting like a spoilt little kid with all this news. We understand she was your first love, but y'all never really had a "relationship". She never even had any thoughts of going in that direction with you, ever. It was all your wishful fantasy.
Enjoyed the little golf training session and then the dinner with collegues has my laughing so hard. And the "awwww" moment holding hands under the table.
I wish KHJ would be open with CSE about knowing what the Eena group and Kangjin group are doing as soon as he found out. He almost told her multiple times, but I think she needs to know. It actually might of helped later on in this episode.
Why oh why do they have the "ex" keep always bumping into CSE? I mean seriously how many coincidences are we going to have here? And now she knows the truth and how excited she is to tell JiHo everything she knows and brings her delusion with her. Another messed up person who thinks their "person" is only doing things because they are still "pining" over them. Enough, we don't need anymore of the same story in the same drama. I can't believe JiEun is so entitled she just barged her way into his apartment. I mean who do you think you are. Not only that she thinks she knows everything about Sang Eun, calling her "born with a silver spoon and not lacking for money, etc". When CSE is anything but, she was picked from an orphanage and she has nothing to do with the Eena group, any and all money CSE has, she earned by herself. I am getting tired of these misunderstandings and self assumptions.
The last interaction of this episode between CSE and JJH, was a bit (I don't know what word to use here). Anyway, neither of them really came out and said things, they both hid things from each other. He needs to tell her about his exwife (why would he lie about that, unless to him it was irrelevant **I didn't mention earlier, but I loved his assertiveness with his ex when he kept telling her "you need to leave, my wife will be here soon" and he basically dragged her out**) CSE and JJH have so many things they need to work out and fix to make this relationship work and I so want it to work.
I am glad we got the epilogue, but we have seen a lot of what was already shown and many of us have pretty much gotten the jest of CSE's past. CSE just really was excited about having parents and wanted to meet them, etc. and of course found out she was nothing more than a project/bride to basically be used. I am glad she stood up for herself, she could of had a cushy life (well as cushy as it could be), but she chose to be independent.
Looking forward to seeing how they will deal with the fallout from the exposure of CSE.
**OH totally forgot to add..... The best part of this episode, was all the interactions between GwangNam and KHJ's manager. I loved it**
Sorry so long, I actually wrote more than I thought I would. :)
The show mastered the art of cliffhangers damn good. They would stuff a lot of anooying/triggering contents in…
OMG yes, I don't think I have come across any drama yet, that has the biggest cliffhangers as this one does. But at the same time I usually binge watch dramas, so don't really notice. But I am enjoying this drama way to much that I am (im)patiently waiting for each new episode.
Yea i kinda panicked for her š what's going to happen?!
I am hoping they will say something like, she was doing him a favor. Something a long the lines KHJ asked JJH if he could "borrow" his wife to stave off the publicity and keep his family at bay. All they had to do was be photographed together a few times and since KHJ and JJH live in the same building it could be kind of convenient. But that might be frowned upon. Oh well, I guess we will find out in the next episode.
SFL is high on something š¤£š¤£coming back after 5+ years and claiming she has changed and hoping to start againšµāš«
I copied this from somewhere else, but it basically describes how I feel as well, "How eccentric and conceited can both the second leads get?! From Hae Jin to Ji Eun, looks like we'll never have any second lead syndrome from the drama this time."
Somethings I want to add to my previous evaluations and comments. As much as I like the fact that we see progress in JJH and CSE's relationship, I have a few misgivings. Let me state, I love that we finally see them really kiss and admit their feelings. But.......
-SangEun has way to many skeletons in her closet. She really needs to come clean with JJH about everything going on, because it isn't just in the past anymore. I say that because she has Madam Yoo living with her and not only that she told Madam Yoo she was dating KHJ (even though we as the audience know the true story). -Hopefully, she will tell KHJ to back the hell off soon (I know we saw some previews for the next episode). I thought she wanted to stop all her "contracts" before she started dating. So that would mean she would have to end things with KHJ before she actually started "dating" JJH.
Also, I hope JJH will start opening up and telling her more about the past, I know he did a bit when he said his ex is someone who doesn't even exist to him anymore, but I have feeling the "ex" isn't going to let go that easily. This last episode, I think he made huge character progression. We saw a lot of sides to him. It kind of surprises me, that this is all coming about now, after they were together for 5 years. It took a very long time for it to get to this point and just in this short span, he has made a significant amount of progress, to the point it almost seems unreal.
I have said this before, but the chaebol storyline is really putting a damper for me on this whole drama. I wish it would wrap up soon. I am tired of seeing the characters related to it and seeing the scenes as well. How many times are we going to here that Eena group wants CSE out of the country? How many times do we have to see the cringy Yoo Mi Ho and her deviousness? enough already.
