Just wanted to say thank you for all the replies and the insights on your views of the best friend's storyline. It is nice to get a different view on what others think of the story.
I absolutely loved this drama. Between this and Shine on Me, it seems modern C Dramas are making a comeback. I personally prefer costume/historical C Dramas and modern K Dramas, but there have been some real good modern C Dramas lately and I am happy.
Although, I thoroughly enjoyed this drama, the story, the acting, and the chemistry, I only gave it a 9.0. My reason is because I really felt the story of her best friend and best friend's husband was completely irrelevant to the whole plot, it didn't add or take away from anything in the main storyline and usually there is some cross with a second story to main plots, but her husband's character was completely irrelevant in the overall story. I believe I read a comment that said they should have just had her best friend and Gong Huai Cong dating in the whole drama and I agree.
please don't take this the wrong way, but... Is it weird for anyone else that they keep using their English names when they are all of the same nationality and working in the same place? I think this is the first drama I have watched where they do that. I mean I am use to seeing it when they are overseas or mostly English is being used in conversation. Is this a new thing? Honestly just curious.
It's actually so refreshing to see a positive and supportive relationship between two mature adults, I'm loving…
Amidst A Snowstorm of Love. Same FL as this one but with Leo Wu as the male lead. I haven't watched it yet, because I still can't get past him with ZLS in Love Like the Galaxy, but after watching ZJM in this one, I might just watch it.
Earlier this morning, I posted the following in reply to a similar discussion about the PV and renewable energy…
I wish the US was more into renewable resources and energy and I love to see other countries' take on things. (Don't get me wrong I know we have quite a few people and companies trying to work on it, but.. ) I know with the US's current administration we will not be seeing progress like this for awhile.
Although, I am not huge into this type of storyline, so I do fast forward through a bit of it, but what I do gather and watch I am enjoying it and always learning new stuff no matter what country it is, is a good thing.
I’m in episode 22 and I already want to poke out these two mother daughter pretender eyes out…strong language…
what I don't get is NXG's father kept telling her he is staying with that woman because she is supposedly suppose to be dying where as NXG comes back and says, she has supposedly been dying for years now. the father seems somewhat smart, so why doesn't he check that stupid women's medical records and find out the truth cause we all know she is obviously lying or does the father just not want to actually let go of the woman
Ahhh there’s nothing more relaxing than watching a romance with a mature man who is confident in himself, knows…
I couldn't agree more with both of you (and KevinToronto). Both sides are very mature and I am so glad they communicate with each other and clear the misunderstandings (except the whole car wreck thing, but that doesn't count) and don't let things linger for several episodes.
I had high hopes for this, because of all the cast or most of the cast being from Yanxi Palace ( I absolutely could not stop watching that for a second). As one person commented it was an overkill of plotting against the FL, everyone wanted her dead and she almost always got near death or plotted against or condemn etc. , by episode 10 or so, I was done, so I fast forwarded and started skipping episodes just to mainly get to the end. The acting was great and the costumes were great, but the story was just so repetitive and unengaging.
The first time I watched this, I guess I wasn't really in the mood to watch such a long drama, so I skimmed and skipped several episodes and for that I am kicking myself. I decided to give this another chance and I haven't been able to stop watching. Every single episode and scene is filled with something going on. It is such an amazing story.
Great series, I have been waiting for something like this for a long time, so many dramas have been dull storylines or just a lot of fluff and I have gotten so tired of seeing open or sad endings, that this one is so refreshing and to see them communicate and express their feelings throughout was great to see. Definitely will be a re watch many times.
Side note: I loved the evolution of Tian Ji, (I will admit I did skip a lot of her scenes with Yan Xiao toward the later part), she became so mature and a true ruler in her own right toward the end.
Shamelessly skipping scenes with situ ling. Poor fuyue tho. shes still not great but i feel bad for her
me too, honestly I am not a huge fan of Yu Cheng En in general, I hated his character in LLTG and I think he is a bit of a same face type of actor, not a lot of emotion, I do have to say he is kind of nailing the villain character though, even though I am still skipping his scenes
I think I miss this detail but what realm did the Bo Clan come from? Are they from Jixing Abyss? Then, it means…
Yes she is a child of both realms. The empress imprisoned her father when she found out that he had "consorted" (had relations) with a member of the Bo Clan (them being from another realm).
