I've no idea what is going on. Can you please tell me, what he said? I really like Zhou Jun Wei
and yet Zhang Zhe Han gets cancelled over photos....I shake my head at the logic of some of this stuff.

Edit: I am also American, so I see things a bit differently. Our so called "actors/actresses" can do all kinds of things and still produce, direct, write, star, promote, etc.

This is just getting better and better with each episode. It doesn’t even feel like 40min when you watch it.…
I agree it doesn't feel like 40 mins. I was watching today and episode 18 ended and I was expecting one more episode not realizing I had already watched both of the episodes.

What's funny is if I remember correctly, she was described to be on the same level of attractiveness as XN in…
I looked up her profile to see what her real age was as well and was surprised. Bai Lu is 29 is her same age and the one who plays the princess is 27 so they are all around the same age, but for some reason Xue daughter just looks a lot older.

Someone needs to get rid of that Xue daughter, talk about an evil "B". And why does she look so much older than the other girls, like she should be playing one of their mothers or an elder sister, not the same age as the princess. Or maybe it is just her aura that gives her that look of being older.

I think someone posted a clip of the meanings of the leads’ names which shows a lot about XW’s feelings towards…
I am pretty sure he does. I haven't read the novel, but I don't think his father cares much for him either.

Non-novel reader as well and I am absolutely loving the story. The cast have done an amazing job to make the story come alive as well.

twins LLTG is undefeated but this might win that for me
it is really hard for anything to beat LLTG for me, I think it is one of the few dramas I have rewatched more than 5 times or so since it aired. Story of Ming Lan would make a close 2nd. I have a feeling I will be rewatching this one a lot as well.

ok not done yet, sorry. I thought the "harem" could not be involved in politics. Why did the Elder Xue go to the Queen Dowager and how does she have the power to do anything over the Emperor's head? The fact they were talking about rules etc and now they just broke them and want to punish the Yan family for disobeying, but aren't they doing the same thing?

One more comment, I just have to say I have to give props to Jian Xiao Lin (Xie Wei's awesome bodyguard). I have seen him in several other dramas and he always seems to stand out for me.

This story just keeps getting intriguing. I can't stop watching it. I honestly haven't enjoyed a political drama or good story since LLTG (although LLTG wasn't hugely political, I still classify it under that umbrella)

Also, Xie Wei must remember the past as well. Am I wrong?
Him remembering the past is speculation right now. According to novel readers, the only other person who remembered (besides Ning'er) was Zhang Zhe, but here in the drama it seems like at times Xie Wei remembers as well.

Why does Prince Ping Nan target the Yan family by using the Xue family? I would think he would want to go after…
I didn't think about it that, totally forgot about the army. Although as the emperor said the army is split into two right now, so not as powerful, but I guess they can still cause a threat and as mentioned today, that as long as there is a Yan alive, they will not obey anyone else. So even if Yan Lin and his father were killed Xie Wei is still a Yan by blood and alive.

Yes I didn't think of it that way. I agree about the incompetence. Although, the current emperor is somewhat smart. I just wish he wouldn't listen to his uncle and mother so much. He knows they are purposely trying to bring the Yan family down and he allows it. So aggravating. He is a ruler, the leader of the country, he should tell them to just shut up, lol. I know it isn't how it works. Also, I really really hate little Xue (the kid Xue who thinks he is all powerful and go around slapping women)

Title Story of Kunning Palace Spoiler
A political drama quandary (in spoiler):
Why does Prince Ping Nan target the Yan family by using the Xue family? I would think he would want to go after the Xue family, as they are the ones that are in power and the Queen Dowager especially, tricked him by sending out a "fake" prince 20 years ago. I get maybe he is trying to remove the lesser of the two powerful families first, but if I were him I would do everything to remove the Xue family.

I just started watching this, so maybe this was answered before, but what is actually the illness Xie Wei has?…
More like PTSD. He is the child that was sent out by the Queen Dowager, as the "false" prince 20 years ago. Everyone believes he was killed, but he is actually alive and has been under Prince Ping Nan for awhile, until he came to the capital under that Princes command. So he suffered a lot, we don't know everything, but since the killing of the 300 (I think it was) happened during the snow storm that is one of his triggers.
