I made it past lion dude but those words on screen during the fight that’s, like, out of an arcade game is killing…
I am so glad I am not the only one who thought this. I was like if this happens through the whole drama, I can't watch it. I feel like I am watching 1950s 60s or whatever Batman with the "Bam" "Pow" etc. I thought the first episode was really bad and I didn't want to continue, but actually after about the middle to end of the 3rd episode, I thought it started to pick up and get a bit better, especially when they started adding more characters. I am actually speed watching it and fast forwarding through a few draggy scenes, but I think the story is picking up.
So finished the first 6 episodes. It is definitely not one of my favorites of Xu Kai's dramas. It is lacking on so much. The story itself isn't bad. I am actually speed watching it. It has a pretty good cast. Guli Nazha isn't usually one of my favorite actresses to watch, actually the only drama I have ever liked her in was Weaving a Tale of Love, but she is pretty good here.
I am disappointed of course in the CGI, and overall background and settings, but the acting and story seems to somewhat make up for that. There are a couple of actors that are not very good, but more that are, that make up for the few bad ones.
I will probably wait til all the episodes come out before I finish this though and then speed watch them all. It is definitely one that I probably will never watch again, but who knows there is still 34 episodes to go.
Yes the CGI, VFX, or whatever is really bad, but this should also be called a xianxia. It has a lot of elements of a xianxia. I don't like the script on the screen when they are fighting, it is distracting and annoying. I can't believe one guy (well 2, the 2nd guy doesn't really count) was able to overcome 3 seemingly powerful people. He wants the mom's ancient bloodline, if it is so good, how was he able to defeat them and she wasn't. This is just my take after watching the first 30 mins of the first episode. I am going to try and give it more time before I decide to drop or not. I like Xu Kai, but I haven't been real thrilled with a lot of his dramas lately, unfortunately. I have been dropping them after about 10 or so episodes.
The action is starting to rev up. So excited for the next episodes coming up. This drama is definitely turning out to be really exceptional. The story is amazing so far and I am excited to see where it goes.
A lot of people aren't quite feeling SY's acting yet (this is my first time watching one of her dramas), but I…
I agree with you. I can't imagine anyone else playing this part. I am not familiar with SY, as the only drama I sort of watched her in was JoL, but I don't really remember her. So I am liking her here and think she is doing a great job with this character.
Here you go 💕https://youtu.be/MqSHszMy-dQhttps://youtu.be/XMg-ey6TZtA
I thought I really liked the opening one, but the second one, where she sings by herself, I love it. Both are great, but I think the second one is my favorite.
So I just started, just finished episode 1, will watch the rest that are out later.
First, I didn't know if I wanted to watch this drama, although I am a huge ZLS fan, because I thought it would be to cutesy and just annoyingly girl chasing boy type of thing. That kind of drama annoys me usually. I have to say so far I am really enjoying it. (I know I only have one episode to base it off of, but even still).
Second, the little girl who played the younger ZLS, is so cute and so talented. I loved watching her play that part. She was very well casted and loved her scenes.
Third, Does ZLS sing the opening OST? It sounded like her, but I wasn't sure. If she does, who is she singing with (the ML?)
Lastly, I love seeing Zeng Li playing her mom here again, it is really cute and nice. They seem to have a really good relationship on and off screen.
I'm on episode 5. I am tolerating Song Yi's acting. It's not to the point that it's annoying me but I cannot help…
I absolutely love Sword and the Brocade. On that note, I personally can't see TSY playing this character, I don't know why. I have been racking my brain to see if there is any other actress that could do what Song Yi has been doing with this character and I can't seem to think of one that would. I also can't see much chemistry between TSY and BJT, I may be wrong in that aspect, but TSY always presents, imo, no matter what character she plays, as a very strong personality and I kind of think she would overshadow BJT's acting. (I am not trying to be negative, it is just how I perceive). Matter of fact it is going to be interesting to see her act with Xu Kai, even though I am looking forward to it, I am interested in seeing that dynamic, it wouldn't have been a pairing, I think, that would not have worked, but waiting to see how it comes out.
Also, it would be hard to compare Sword and the Brocade or even Minglan to this drama, albeit there are a very small few similarities, this is one of the rarer costume dramas where the ML's family welcomed the daughter in law with open arms and supported her wholeheartedly in everything she does. Which is one of the most endearing things about this drama.
If you haven't watched You Are My Hero, you should. It is my favorite of his. His chemistry with Sandra Ma is…
I haven't watched Reset yet, I heard it was a great drama. I just don't like that kind of story line. Nothing against the actors or drama itself. BJT is so fun and cute to watch, the dramas I have watched him in, I have really enjoyed.
BJT is hilarious in this. OMG, I just got to the scene in ep. 7 when his mother comes back and tells YuRu she lost weight and he said, "Me too, My cheeks are caving in" (sucks in his cheeks) LOL!!!!
