Nope, he wasn't. He saved The Long Ballad by joining the cast at the last minute when Qu Chuxiao dropped out of it. Wu Lei has worked really hard to portray the role of Ashina Sun. He worked out like crazy to get into better shape within a very short time. He holds the character really special.

Tencent wanted him to act in a BL drama "Immortality" but he delined, so they blocked him last year and didn't even promote his character for his drama Crossfire and also cut off his past endorsements along with future ones. Tencent is a bloody bitch. He has contracts of doing 4dramas with Tencent, apparently he's being pressurized to act in this rumored drama with low quality script.

About Dilraba, do you mean Youku? Dilraba is also having cold wars with Tencent, she has taken a Youku project, so Tencent didn't promote her in TLB. But she alone got all the traffic so their plans backfired. Also, Tencent has been using her traffic to boost Lusi. All Lusi's post contains Dilraba's and Wu Lei's hashtags since they can generate more traffic.
