I definitely agree too!!! Production and cinematography is important to me but how they make me feel is of course more important. This one felt rushed for me personally so I'd probably give it an 8. What are your favorite bls that you've seen so far? For me recently Kiseki Dear to Me (ChenYixAiDi) left me sick with feelings, I always go back to it haha.

I think 10/10 rating is way too generous, for me anyway. The team should know they have a couple of things to improve too. Over all it was alright, just not as great as everyone's making out to be.

Yessssss!!!! People are too generous with their ratings, they don't treats bls as cinema or a production I think most just love to see the actors and don't really care about anything else much. It's very frustrating to say the least, especially if when you're attacked if your say your honest opinion?? It's okay to criticize it's literally the audience's job? It's helpful! I honestly have my own spreadsheet where where I rate and comment for myself. And I very much agree, dramas like Me and Thee are worshipped for what?? It was so bad I dropped it right away, they really don't make a good couple imo anyway.

Yes the exact scene where i was furious about the script was that line when his mother tells him that was the…
I'm really happy for you!! I think analysis is one of the most important skills a person must develop, it helps us in everything, beyond your expectations. Cinema, literature, art, music, fashion, and real life situations. I think it's really sad more and more people are becoming less analytical and curious and more dependent on what's handed to them. I mean, at the start of all of this you just thought of this movie as maybe lacking and badly written, when now you are able to see what you missed out and appreciate it's true hidden depth no? I think when things are made with purpose and intention they carry an undeniable essence and soul, and when things are made to only supply a demand, it's soulless, it's rigid, and dead. Not all books are literature, and not all movies are cinema, if they offer no room for thought, they don't make you question, think, feel, wonder, they are nothing, empty, no matter how popular. Don't be afraid to think, question, discover, and be different. Some of the comments really missed the whole point of the movie in all of it's greatness, they come out the other end with appreciation of performance when the movie is a deep well they only drank it's surface and left thirsty still. Analysis is a skill, it's learned, and perfected by practice, question everything, find out the essence of everything, only then your spirit will grow. Practice it in whatever you watch or read or consume, then do rewatch this movie and think on it. I'm sure you'll make more out of it than I've given.

You're most welcome :) I really encourage you to think deeper and analyze, I first learned this important skill when studying literature. In your opinion, if she finally treated ChunHe kindly in that moment she would become a "good mother"? I think the writer/s didn't choose such a conclusion for their relationship because yes, it's unrealistic and because being kind in such a moment or suddenly wanting to be a "good mother" is further proof at her selfishness-- it would mean that she is very capable of such tenderness but never felt inclined to treat him gently. She hates that he's "not normal" but she also resents how unyielding he is, how stubborn he is about what he believes in, and what's right. Even the possibility of his death doesn't shift her hatred and resentfulness, it only brings the reality to light. How can she love him when she thinks of his whole existence as a failure, her biggest mistake. How can she love him when his entire just, confident, genuine, and kind personality is a reflection of everything she is not, she cannot be. He is kind, giving, strong, unyielding, and honest; she is weak, mean, selfish, swayed by other people's opinions, afraid, and small. So again, we analyzed another layer to this movie. Once again, ChunHe represents the limitation of the physical but freedom of the mind, the spirit, he is endless regardless of people's eyes, his mother's heavy resentfulness, he is brave and strong and outgoing... And his mother represents the caged bird, conditioned to follow, to fear other's looks and opinions, she's limited in sight, perception, and weak in spirit, in the heart, she's a coward. His mother is the reflection of such limitations in the privacy of our minds, and the vastness of society (which is also depicted through the bus scene and later bus company's invitation and ChunHe's speech). This is all just a small analysis of the mother son relationship, I invite you to think about the fact that the only person who loves and accepts ChunHe as he is, is his grandmother, the one who's motherly relation is troubled when it comes to her own daughter. I love analysis haha, its my favorite mental exercise, and I love when I find such rare movies or books that are so well done. I can talk about this movie for days haha.

You asked a good question, "why add that line?" try thinking about it deeper and analyze it. It was intentional, the movie, script, and acting are all intentional and obviously very well thought-out. I think sometimes we misunderstand or don't fully reach an understanding particularly in movies or sometimes books, when we don't think deeper than we're given. If everything was handed out to us as the viewer it wouldn't be a very well done movie, if it makes you question, conjure an emotion, and makes you think to discover the hidden meaning, that's cinema and that's literature. That line, that moment, was very important, it was a moment of confession. ChunHe lives with the hope of "maybe she's just not emotionally available but she loves me as her son" always in the back of his mind, he confronts her about it and she hurts him back at one point but that was always the case, as is with many parent child relations. However, that moment it was different, his mother finally confesses and admits she has never accepted him or wanted him as a son. A confession, and an acceptance, ChunHe in that moment lets go and reaches a state of "so it is", he cannot change her, he cannot make her love him, he cannot make himself "normal" like she want him to be. That scene is also to showcase reality, cruel as it may be, most parents see their children as extensions of themselves, so they are selfish and mean to their own children. I can promise you many such parents watched that scene and hated his mother despite being the same person in a different version to their kids. This movie requires you to question, think, analyze, such lines, scenes were not a mistake or poor writing, they have a purpose.

What a disappointment. They tried so hard to make this profound and failed at even make it reasonable. The plot is very confusing and so very badly written, important emotions, explanation, and logic is nowhere to be seen. I think one mistake writers often make is using fantasy as an excuse, even if your story is a fantasy it must make sense ,follow some kind of logic to be properly digested. Throwing the "it's a fantasy so it's okay no need to make much sense here anyway" is plot ruining!! It only creates plot holes not mystery. I love the couple and hope to see them in a better show together in the future. The acting did feel lacking though still, especially Woo Jin Han's. His character is supposed to be in love with U Jin yet he shows minimal affection, care, and love towards him. Even in scenes he's trying to let him go to protect him, love can still be depicted at least with the eyes. The lack of love, affection, and care being portrayed really makes this project rather weak in my opinion. I think even with a bad script and plot holes if they at least had better portray of feelings it would've made it a fan favorite easily. For example, Hye Seong's lack of urgency throughout the series really bothered me, I think if you truly loved someone and they magically came back into your life wouldn't you feel anxious to even sleep of fear of it all slipping away? Especially the last scene, upon his last arrival, he just sits around wondering if U Jin lived or not instead of running to check for his ern?? That's so unrealistic to me I just can't fathom it! Even if the person was my friend or acquaintance it would still matter to me if they lived of not, I'd still be running around to make sure, to check, to make a change. I found this rather cold, Jeong You did a much better job at delivering his character's feelings, even silently. Feelings don't need lines, they can be delivered in various ways, Jeong You as an actor has a better understanding of this it seems. another point that weakens Hye Seong as a character, is the fact the writer/s seem to forget his age? Hye Seong is an adult in his late 20s at least or mid 30s to my understanding. He goes back to the past but he still has the mindset of a teen? He lacks the maturity and wisdom of an adult throughout the story, he's a child no matter at which timeline. All in all, this could've been better.

I understand where you're coming from but I don't think you see the full picture. Try to think of this movie as a rant about rejection and limitation instead of disability. I believe the movie has many layers to be analyzed and explored. ChenHe represents physical limitation, but his mother for example among many things she's emotional limitation, society is a limitation of thought, awareness, sight, acceptance... The story isn't about pity nor do they showcase the main character as pitiful at all, I find this rather ironic, the script isn't designed to make him look pitiful, it's to criticize how blind people are, looking and unseeing, ignorant. It is the protagonist's wish for the viewer to realize this message, it's how the main character is honored within it. I personally find ChenHe very worthy of much respect, and find that the movie did the character justice.

One scene that stuck with me, is the climax scene. ChunHe comes home after experiencing yet another rejection, bearing sweets that he personally made to give his mother. The mother who was his first ever rejection, before he was ever rejected by the world, his mother rejected him first, treated him as un-equal, un-normal, un-able first- way before the world ever had. He personally makes her candy but still recovering, his mother is unable to receive his sweets, his love- physically and emotionally his mother never accepted him. So he stuffs all the sweets into his mouth, more, and more, and more, dying with each- the love he never received, the care, hope, desire, despair, the bitterness, hoping to choke on it all and die. Then, only to wake up to his mother by his side sobbing that she's sorry, that this is her last chance at being a mother. What is this if not another ugly and selfish rejection? As he lays there mute, and alone, never having earned her kindness, care, or affection. As if he was never worth it, he was never enough for her to conjure any feeling of motherhood- but the new baby can, unlike him. As if, she couldn't still choose to love him too, mother him, as if he's not her child still. She doesn't offers him a hint of softness, love, care, affection, or acceptance throughout the entire movie, nothing, she's cruel and controlling, and guilting him. He gives her a gentle pat on the head as she tells him she wants to be a mother, not to him but her new chance at normality. He returns her rejection with love. He wants to be a teacher, a giver, useful, in a world, a big world that labels and rejects, in a world that likes to take. This movie has so many layers, so many aspects that hurt.

Ummm.. I'm lost a bit. The ending? When they were walking it sounded like the one must go off and better himself…
I think, SooHyuk (the hyung) was afraid to accept YoonDae's feelings or him back in his life because it felt temporary and unstable. Since YoonDae has been attaching himself to people out of convenience not sincerity; this is what SooHyuk saw in YoonDae, he saw how he was in such a superficial light relationship with his girlfriend. YoonDae breaking up means he needs another to attach himself to and SooHyuk was afraid this is why he sought him, that he doesn't actually have feelings for him but needs somewhere to exist and go back to, a comfort place.
I think SooHyuk wanted YoonDae's feelings to be true, he wanted him but was afraid he's just a replacement. YoonDae had to change first, prove that he wants SooHyuk to love and not to just have a convenient comfort place. At the end, we hear YoonDae was able to achieve becoming self-sufficient enough to allow someone into his life. This isn't about money or work as much as it's about healing I think, YoonDae needed to find himself outside of his father's dominance and influence. He needed to heal his emotional wounds of abandonment, he wanted love and never knew how to receive or give it since he was never loved properly so he became anxious, dependent, and reliant like a child in need of constant care.
He also kept testing people if they would tolerate him, it didn't matter to him who gave him care regardless if he was disinterested in them, attracted to them, liked them or not because it was better than being alone. Since SooHyuk knows this he's afraid, he had to carry both his parent's lives and burdens, giving up his own future to please them, help, and support them. He wanted to receive their love and care, instead he got more worries, more trouble, and more stress. SooHyuk didn't want to live like that again, being someone's convenience, someone's solution. YoonDae working and becoming independent means he's changing, maturing, finally willing to face the world instead of hide in his sadness; meaning he now has the capacity, space, and peace of mind for a relationship, so for the first time, SooHyuk is to do the waiting.

PLEASE SEASON TWO PLEASE AHHHHHHHH!
I really enjoyed this tbh, it's not your typical BL, it's dark and realistic. At some point it was confusing, since they don't properly separate flashbacks from current events. I actually really like and understand SooHyuk's confusion and rejection, he spent his entire life taking on his parent's burdens, he didn't hate taking on YoonDae's and helping him either but after YoonDae came on to him he became afraid that YoonDae wants him to be his shelter because of his burdens not because he truly loves him. Both YoonDae and SooHyuk don't know how to be soft, they grew up on fear and abuse. They aren't able to admit or express their feelings properly, YoonDae tries to show SooHyun tenderness the only way he knows, being reliant, which is a big trigger for SooHyuk considering both their pasts and Dae's personality. I really love this, I wish it was longer, or that they give us a season two. These two were meant to be each other's shelters and healing point, I wish we got to see that, I wish we get to see it. Beautiful story, great acting!! This whole drama reminds me of a song by Taek "어딜 가든 나쁜 사람들은 있잖아요"
