Not 100% perfect, but close.
It's a happy ending! They proved me wrong, Hallelujah!
The making quality and production value is very good, significantly better than typical GMM productions. Cinematography and lighting is also well done. The pace is slow, but picks up in the later episodes. The opening was great, the script and direction is also good. I love the symbolisms they used throughout, especially the one with Tanrak pressing the chamomile flowers given by Barth inside a Bible. It's filled with a lot of other metaphors. One of the problems is that the story doesn't feel like it was fully developed. The crisis needed to be deeper for the happy ending to truly feel profound. I wish they kept the tone of the pilot trailer.
How do I even express my love for Barth and Tanrak. One boy who lost his faith, and another who is wavering. In the end they find it through each other. I could write essays about the whole thing, but I urge you to watch it and understand on your own. The plot is simple, like a coming of age story. In the end it all boils down to Love is Love, and it is the most important of it all.
Another problem is that they do not look to be late 40's at all. Why a 30 year time lapse? There are some discrepancies if you look deep enough. But it doesn't take away from the beauty of this show.
The side characters are some of the nicest characters in fiction. This is how true followers of Christ are supposed to be. As much as love this, it feels a bit unrealistic.
In short, it is very good quality and very feel good with a touch of angst.
