Exactly!!!! And Cen Jin doesn’t apologise as much to Li Wu. All throughout, Li Wu has been the first to say…
i feel like her mother was even worse in the novel! maybe because the actress is super nice. there's going to be a whole conversation between cenjin and her father, he's so great and accepts their relationship so easily. one of the best characters indeed.
liwu’s level of trauma: jiejie finally tells him to be with her, and although he’s happy, he also feels like he has no standards. she calls him and he goes running to her. 🥺
The breakup scene wasn’t as bad as I imagined. They were both at fault. She could have tried from the start…
i understand her motives and i agree that he should go abroad too. but lying like that was despicable. the ends do not justify the means! i think she should’ve tried to talk to him and help him understand that they could make it work, without telling him she’d go with him and then destroying all his plans at the last minute. no wonder he was in such a bad place over there. poor liwu even got c0vid and couldn’t return after the two years were over.
Lord that’s so cruel. My heart just breaks for him and of course they’re just going to gloss over it like…
no, i don't have express, i only saw the preview. i said i understand why she wanted him to go abroad, but i don't agree with the way she did it. she souldn't have lied.
Can't entirely blame the FL cause i agree with her he had to go even though the way she did it is not ideal and…
you have to think from liwu’s perspective. cenjin is the only person who loved him after his grandpa. not even his parents wanted him (they don’t mention this in the drama, but it’s in the novel). so he truly believes she will eventually forget him and find someone better.

although what she did breaks my heart and makes me want to hate her, i still believe that, in her mind, she was doing what she thought was best for liwu. she believed she was stealing his youth. he had already given up the best university just to be near her, and then he was about to give up a great opportunity to go abroad because of her as well.
at the same time, i completely understand liwu’s point of view. the way she handled it was the worst possible. ugh.
but i also believe she was in a pretty bad place after he left. she must have missed him too, probably throwing herself into work, etc.
so the matress liwu said that made he sleep so well in the future timeline some eps ago was not the sofa bed, it was jiejie's bed 😏 and also the movie they watched after his first time he hints in the cinema scene in the future timeline too 😏
we all knew that, but it's nice to finally connect the dots hahaha
that part was not on the novel, it's really heartbreaking, how did she had the guts to do that to him 😭
pretty sure they don't have a big break up in the novel (it's been a long time since i read it), liwu doesn't go abroad, no 6 years apart. but they have a lot of fights.
there's going to be a whole conversation between cenjin and her father, he's so great and accepts their relationship so easily. one of the best characters indeed.
i also understand cenjin, though.
