idk why chinese dramas keep insisting in this kind of forced kiss plot. somehow they don't seem to see any problem with that like we do.

both are the kisses from the trailers, the one she's pulled against the wall and the other in the sofa. he gets drunk and kisses her. in the sofa one, in the end she stops resisting and kisses him back.

i won't spoil if you haven't read the novel, its better, trust me haha

another point is that we have to think about liwu's life before... is not like he had the chance to grow up like he did and have a strong EQ. i can understand why he can be a bit toxic with cenjin... I'M NOT DEFENDING HIM!! 🥲 but i hope he gets rid of his toxic side soon and cenjin jiejie can forgive him!

agree! also, in these first episodes it doesn't look like liwu loved cenjin at first sight, i think he admires her a lot for what she's been doing for him right now... it'll take a while until he develops feelings for her... and another while until he confesses. at least that's what i'm getting.

i actually don't like the forced drunk kisses, but i'll keep watching cause i wanna know what happened between them. this future parts are very different from the novel. i am watching this for keyu, so the messy script won't erase the fact that his acting is great for his first ml drama.

still love liwu from the past tho 🥺🤏🏼 hope future liwu gets his stuff together soon.

in ep1 when liwu called cenjin he said "i'm the student from yunfeng village who was sponsored by mr. cen before" - cenjin's father. and then in ep2 cenjin said what i wrote in the previous comment.so it's her parents who actually sponsored liwu, they just let cenjin and wufu go to the village to see liwu before because at the time they were in some conflict about having a baby or something like that. idk if at that time she had already lost the baby or not, as in the novel.

in the drama it's cenjin's parents who sponsor liwu, not her. you can see it in ep2 when she's talking on the phone with her parents outside the car (liwu nervous eating so cute afterwards haha)
and also when she goes to the village and takes liwu back home liwu is 19 yo, finished college, but since he could't take the gaokao exam he has to take another year (fudu) and then take the gaokao. and in this time i think she's not 30 yet bc of the book's birthday part i read in the book, not sure.

nothing wrong or weird to me, since it takes some more time until they fall in love, specially cenjin, since liwu is the first one to do so.

i read the novel and the drama is exceeding my expectations so far!
