So am I reading it wrong as ep progresses, SY is always rescuing XQ and even defending her. But XQ is still standing…
She's trying to get close to him, but all the time he tells her he's not really interested. Others can see it, but how can she trust him when one moment he's nice then next he's pushing her away? He's as wishy-washy as she is.
Thought SY didn’t want to tell XQ because he doesn’t want to hurt her of the truth at how horrible her mother…
No, that part is important. For him to tell her that he's okay with no guarantees. That she can go to him without doing a free fall. That's he's okay with small steps that she can make.
Okay, XQ's flaw is obvious. She's indecisive, but to frank, her risk, if their relationship not work out, is way…
I agree with you. People want only XQ to take that decision to lose everything for love.
But SY (even though we know he loves her) isn't telling her everything and honestly keeps that wall separating them up. She's trying to win him over, but he directly tells her "i may get over you". What he wants is for her to promise him everything without really knowing everything, but she's not impractical. How can you ask someone to just give everything up for someone who's been hot-and-cold with her? It's also not fair.
Do they love each other? Definitely. Is she hesitating a lot? Yes. But SY can't keep giving her an all-or-nothing ultimatum.
As for the "trash" comment, I think people are unaware how "don't rock the boat esp in public" is something that runs deep in Asia. And moreso for someone who was "trained" to behave properly as kid. (This is also why in the novel, even after finding out about what her mom did, XQ did not tell SY that she knows. If he doesn't want her to know, she will not talk about it.) It may be frustrating, but can people stop trying to make her behave as if she's from another culture that celebrates individuality and independence?)
This is one messed up comment section. I have never seen so much angst before. Almost all the dramas I watch and…
Agreeing to disagree is fine. But there's such a thing as calling out certain behaviors when it needs to be called out. For example: not loving FL? ok. not liking FL? ok. not understanding FL to the point of dragging her character and telling her to leave ML alone and be miserable? that's lacking of empathy.
we all see the signs of her poor mental health. yes, broken people are not always likeable and can often show toxic behaviors. but to simply consider them unredeemable and unworthy, i think that's just being more toxic than the fictional character they complain about.
i thought they have chemistry when they tease each other during high school. but all current the scene from them…
so i skimmed thru the novel to look at hot steamy it is based on what folks here have been saying. and there's a part there where she said she wishes her eyes were expressive. so it's not WCR being a bad actress and not having expressive eyes. the character is written like that. I think WCR is doing a good job with the character she's portraying tho. And I think there's enough push and pull chemistry happening between YY and WCR as needed.

The FL has got to stop disrupting his life being all wishy washy. I know we are supposed to sympathize with her…
I think we should not only consider that ML walked away, but FL did not hang on to him. She could have lied to keep him, but she didn't. She also told her brother that she felt she can only hurt him. In the end, at this point in time, THEY BOTH chose to not be together. They are both not ready. ML may have said that he can bear it all, but can he really? Also, I think he has some issues to work on himself. He always takes the blame for what happened to Sou Jun, that their situation was because he brought it upon himself, not telling fl everything that happened before. That's a flaw.
I'M ADDICTED!If I understand that MENG QIN does not want to disappoint her adoptive family because she had only…
Asian culture. Lucky few have families with more liberal thinking. There's a lot of emphasis on filial obligations without consideration on whether the families deserve being filial to. Take into consideration that girl who wanted to kill herself and how strangers reacted to her and calling her unfilial. For FL, it's even more complicated with her being adopted and then "trained" to be obedient. Her family demands her being filial. Society supports her family's demands. Even at work where she's proven herself to be a good surgeon, there's still her family's meddling that makes people think she's just as good as her connections. She has a lot to process and tbh that's what i want to see.
I find it really interesting that many people are quick to label the female lead (FL) as annoying, overly childlike,…
What's more is that FL knows her trauma. A part of her wants to break free from that trauma, but she's still not strong enough. That's why she's going back and forth with the ML. Breaking free of one's trauma is not a one time decision and boom you're free. So I don't understand why others just write her off as unredeemable.
If I'm being honest, I am more curious and excited about the POSSIBILITY of our naive and love-struck male lead…
coz heaven forbid falling in love with someone who is broken who also happens to love the person back but still has issues to overcome. why you put him on a pedestal as if he's perfect puppy dog in love with rose colored glasses on... coz i don't see song yan like that. if he were too naive and love-struck, would he have given her an ultimatum in ep11?
they are both flawed and broken inside.

also novel has a lot of jump and sudden parts of their history with no transitions. drama can't just do that.
